What does victory mean for a team that lost the conference finals last year?
EVERYTHING.
The Gladiators are in a quest to redeem honor and glory,
crushing everyone in their way. With the dominating 37-17
win over one of their rivals last year, Albuquerque Isotopes,
the Gladiators once again show their might.
The Whitehall War Eagles, who were seeking to make a name
for themselves, were relentlessly crushed on both ends of
the floor in a 3-48 loss.
the Gladiators looked shaky in the first part of the game.
Giving up 2 turnovers early in the game. It was 0:59 3rd &
11.5 in the first quarter. USA BBB#11 MVP, Quarterback Buck Randall
was frustrated. at the huddle he said
"What are we playing for? We aren't just looking for a win.
We're looking for something that was stolen from us last
year, a championship. Let's give these guys what they're
looking for, a good ol' beatdown, Gladiator style! On 3"
"War Eagles... WE WILL KILL THEM!!!"
and then it began. The Gladiators showed what they haven't
last season. the ball was seen flying in the air all the
time. It was a passing onslaught. The ball flew everywhere.
And with the addition of new WR Pure Stunner, the War Eagles'
life wasnt any easier. Pure grabbed a game-high 8 reception
for 76 yards, and a TD to polish it all up. The War Eagles
tried their best to catch up but to no avail with
Guadalajara's stifling defense. Even defense had a say in
scoring. One of the highlights in the game was an INT by
Derrick Davis which was returned for a TD. This one play
sucked the life out of the Eagles, giving away 3rd downs and
getting pounded by the Defensive line. Pure Pain had a few,
short trash-talking sessions with Zak Russ up their back
court. Paul Kutcha also wanted to say something to enemy
QB Mason Russ.
The Gladiators steadilly increased their lead as the game
went on with power plays from FB Greg Heyward and
coordinated play from the new most talked about duo in the
league, Buck Randall and Pure Stunner during the 3rd quarter
By 4th quarter, it was already garbage time as the Eagles
recieved heavy punishment from Guadalajara team MVP Bo Jaxon
and Greg Heyward which were also the premiere runners of
USA BBB#11. Guadalajara's bread butter sealed off the win
with All-star Kicker Dr. Big Boobs McGee's 37 yd FG and
Bo Jaxon's TD.
It was just a bad day for the Whitehall War Eagles.
