Plenty to choose from after the bonus token bonanza from the off-season.

Got a DT that is getting into the backfield and making 2 - 4 tackles per game against good teams. He is playing both the DT and NT position. Gets a rare sack and hasn't yet caused a fumble. He is close to the end of his playing career

Would you could boost 3 to 64 bonus tokens or 4 to 48 bonus tokens?

How would rate them:
+3 Confidence, +5% Break Block
+1 Strength, +1 Tunnel Vision
+3 strength, +1 First Step SA
+2 Speed, +1 D-Line General
+3 agility, Make tackle chance +5%
+3 speed, +1 First Step SA
+2 strength, +1 Break Through SA
+3 strength, Force fumble chance +5%
+3 strength, +1 Big Hit SA
+2 speed, +1 Wall SA
+1 vision, +1 Aura of Intimidation SA
+1 Superior Vision SA

It would make things alot easier to see the builds but randomly guessing I'd do 3 to 64 then pick

+3 Confidence, +5% Break Block
+3 Strength, + First Step SA
+3 Speed, + First Step SA

+3 Confidence, +5% Break Block
+3 Strength, + First Step SA
+3 Speed, + First Step SA

unless you picked an archetype and have FS as the extra SA and it is at 5 or you can get it to 5 with sp from temp boosting. Then I would replace the +3 Speed, + First Step with +2 speed, +DLG.

A few things to consider are where your SAs already are, which bonus SA you chose with your archetype, and what your goals for your DT/NT are before he retires.

+3 Confidence, +5% Break Block -- SOLID.
+1 Strength, +1 Tunnel Vision -- Nice piece, but I like FS better for DTs.
+3 strength, +1 First Step SA -- SOLID.
+2 Speed, +1 D-Line General -- Nice piece, but I wouldn't take it unless you're the primary NT.
+3 agility, Make tackle chance +5% -- I'm not typically a fan of MTC % pieces.
+3 speed, +1 First Step SA -- I like the one with Strength better.
+2 strength, +1 Break Through SA -- not a fan of taking an AEQ piece with an SA so low on the tree.
+3 strength, Force fumble chance +5% -- Definitely an interesting piece, but unless you're getting more tackle opportunities, I'd avoid it.
+3 strength, +1 Big Hit SA -- See above; the above piece is the better of the two.
+2 speed, +1 Wall SA -- See "+2 Strength, +1 Break Through"
+1 vision, +1 Aura of Intimidation SA -- An interesting piece to consider given you have had trouble getting penetration lately. This might help by taking down morale early on and might help you if you want to get a FF before the end of his career.
+1 Superior Vision SA -- I'd pass on this. Too many other good pieces here to consider this one.

This is generally some pretty solid advice. If you take 3 pieces, you could take one of two routes:

1. The above advice from Rage.

2. +3 Confidence, +5% BB
+3 Strength, +1 First Step
+3 Strength, +5% FF (That's a top-notch piece...)

If you take four, definitely take those four pieces mentioned above.

Interesting post.

Just started building a DT and thought FS was of more use to DE's - does it help DT's enough to consider it in the same category as Break block and Strong Base?

Thanks all for the review and input. Would like to take this a step further for analysis if you have the time.

Player's build:
Skill Points: 16
Training Points: 2
Bonus Tokens: 89 + 96 + 5
Veteran Points: 0

Getting very close to day 440.
Equipment taken off except for CE.

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 99.57 (+6)
Speed: 69.89
Agility: 89.76
Jumping: 41
Stamina: 51.45
Vision: 70.8
Confidence: 52.45

Football Skills
Blocking: 18.03
Catching: 8
Tackling: 61.76
Throwing: 8
Carrying: 8
Kicking: 8
Punting: 8

Special Abilities
Pass Rusher Abilities
The Glare: 2
Shed Blocks: 3
Swat Ball: 0
Strong Base: 0
Big Sack: 0

Run Stuffer Abilities
Wall: 3
Break Through: 3
Snarl: 1
Big Hit: 1
D-Line General: 1

Additional Abilities
First Step: 0
Veteran Abilities
Bull Rusher: 15
Jump the Snap: 15
Stonewall: 9
Streaky: 15

Goals for the player / Factors:
* Be a solid contributor at the Pro league for this season and next
* Be more of a DT instead of a NT since there are not enough free SP points to throw in the D-Line General SA
* There may not be a lot of free cash to effectively max out all of the potential equipment upgrades so it seems to suggest to go with 4 pieces in order to maximize bonus token usage and maximizing # of upgrades

My thinking on the equipment: focus on equipment that can help break / beat blocks - the following 2 seem like a lock
+3 Confidence, +5% BB (Break block seems way too critical to not have it)
+3 Strength, +1 First Step (The +3 Strength solidifies it in my mind and any chance to get off the line with better acceleration seems like a lock)

With the archetype, FS selected, and SP available to apply to it, it throws the 3rd, and possibly 4th one into question for me.

+2 strength, +1 Break Through SA (like the strength, and can get to BT to 8)
+3 Speed, + First Step SA (this in combination with the other AEQ and available SA would push it to 12 - 15ish ... does this weaken the FS bonus too much?)
+3 agility, Make tackle chance +5% (like the agility ... if the MT could help to get 1 or 2 more tackles per game, that would be nice and would move it up the list)
+3 strength, Force fumble chance +5% (might be interesting ... like the strength, but concern that the lack of tackles may make the FF somewhat useless)
+1 Strength, +1 Tunnel Vision (strength is decent, always liked the TV, but would only get it up to 4)

the rest (I think Oofty hit the mark on the analysis of these)
+3 strength, +1 Big Hit SA
+1 vision, +1 Aura of Intimidation SA
+2 Speed, +1 D-Line General
+2 speed, +1 Wall SA
+1 Superior Vision SA

think the FS is very good - with the opportunity to get a jump on the snap and getting the boost to acceleration from a dead stop, it is tough to not go with it.

for the Strong Base, it is in the pass rushing tree - does it also have a chance to activate on running plays? My thought was it didn't, but I could easily be wrong.
