Yeah, I went for Cut Block after all. I rolled a Shock Block on my AEQ and thought it might be a good combination to try out--I figured, if the Shock Block engages, that might give my guy the extra tick to engage the Cut Block immediately afterward. We'll see.

Of course, the funny part is that my FB is still very young anyways so I probably won't be putting any points into that Cut block for another 20 levels anyway...

Cut Block is a Run Blocking SA
Shock Block is a Pass Blocking SA

so they are not going to be a combination in the sense you are talking about

Not true. Bort has stated that FS only triggers when the player is at a complete (or almost nearly complete) stop. It won't fire multiple times like you suggest.

and what happens when a play changes directions (major cuts I mean).... they nearly come to a stop.

I've seen FS work throughout my time on GLB for various positions and it went off even when players were moving.
Additionally, when you're blocking, you're often at or near 0 speed. So it actually has a high chance of firing.

What about Shock Block as a SA for blocking FB?

If I understand correctly. Cut Block makes the user go to the ground also. Which imo would make him less effective if he might have the opportunity to make to 2 blocks on the same play, if he was needed to peel off a block and block a safety, LB or CB

Pass blocking SA. Not useful at all.

I have a strong, very fast, agile blocking FB playing out of position at blocking TE. I'd sure hate to see the penalty to Quick Cut with the blocking archetype. (I have no reason to think QC would not be in effect on running plays.) He's at zero at QC and might not ever put points in it, but concerned it may still have a negative impact on any inherent cutting ability. Question then is, is a penalty to SA with no points = zero, or some negative number? I hope zero.

No one for First Step? I like Get Low too, but I think First STep has possibilities.

Definitely first step as your HB's are going to train speed first and longer than your FB.
