I think I screwed up on my TE build and I may want to retire him:

Sin City Marv Lv: 34 TE
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1606746

Str:65.44
Blk 25.44
Spd:59.88 (+26)
Agi:70.88
Jmp:14
Cat 79.44
Stm:26.88
Car 14.88
Vis:56.44
Con:14.88

Special Abilities
Receiving Abilities Route:1, Stick:1, Quick:1, Cover:1, Lower:1

Veterans Abilities (0 VP)
Possesion Receiver: 8

Getting his Catching to the 68 cap was overkill I think. That's 24 SP that could have been spent elsewhere and I believe his build is fucked because of it.

From where his build is now, my plan was this:

Train Speed/Stamina while getting agility to 77.

Then While training Carry/Confidence, get speed to the 73 or 77 cap?

Give it to me straight.

It's going to take forever for you to hit your targets for each attribute. After you get those two to 77 you will have to get carrying to at least 61 and confidence, stamina, and jumping all to about the softcap, then start working on SAs. The way it looks you may not get to SAs until at least your plateau season, maybe further off. I would retire, this is a good time to start over with the new archetypes coming out this offseason. If you are willing to wait it could be a really good dot in the plateau and the decline seasons.

Thanks. Those were my thoughts exactly. Tbh I'm pretty embarrassed of his build.

I don't think it would have been so bad if you had not tried to add strength to the mix. If you had gone catching, then vision, then right on to speed/agility, I think that would have worked better.

I think your plan was nice but your approach was entirely off. You should've focused on getting certain attributes up first and then moving from there. Also, you only need to really 3cap speed/agility if you're going all out on speed with equipment anyways (that's roughly 40+ into speed. so at 70ish that'd be 110+ speed regardless.

If you were going for a power TE you should've went strength first, then catching, then vision then carrying and so forth just because of training chains.

I took this approach with this guy.

This

The catching was the right path you want to get that up there early on for the later levels to take advatage of the ALG..The thing that probably set you back was the strength you shoudl have went all vision carrying speed agility confidence after that.Strength maybe train to the first cap but i wouldnt of added any SP to it..I think it could still be a good build though up the blocking and carrying a bit and he would be a great casual TE

What was ur exact training chain... STR and CAR... then CAR and CAT... then CAT and VIS??
How high did u take each attribute?

It's kind of irrelevant now with archetypes coming out now...

but I started with str/car and one capped str
started training cat/vis and 3 capped str while doing this.
moved onto 2 capping catching and then I 1 capped vision...
started training car/conf and I 3 capped catching/2capped vision...
then I just 2 capped carrying and plan on bringing it to the 3rd cap.

my builds are outlined in this thread... which I forgot to update last season. ha.
