First off, he's the first character I created when I joined the game nearly a year ago during Season 6 and had no clue what I was doing. I got bored and ignored him until early into Season 11 when I came back. I'd say he has about 2 more seasons left before I get rid of his ass, but I'd like to make them count for something. He managed to be productive in Season 12, but hasn't really been since.

Height: 6'4"
Weight: 259 lbs
Strength: 82.64 (+14)
Agility: 55.64 (+3)
Speed: 52.64
Tackling: 43.64
Vision: 31.65

First Step: 2
Change Direction: 2
Shed Block: 2
Tunnel Vision: 3

What should I do with his VA points and to improve him?

Retire Him!

I would never retire a player mid-season, sorry.

He's just going to fill space on a d-line for a good length of time. His strength is ok (kinda), but everything else is too lowly balanced to do anything. Lets say you pancake someone or break the block - then what? No speed or agility to get anywhere to make difference. Let's say a dot runs right at you, assuming you don't fall over from a lack of agility and vision, your low tackling doesn't give you much of an advantage.

If you really do plan on retiring him in 2 seasons I doubt you'll see much improvement in his performance. Not trying to be mean, just realistic. GLB is about saturating skills to weigh the odds in your favor - balance here isn't going to get you much. Especially in 2 seasons and the reduced auto-level gains that you get at lvl25+.

LOL. So no one has an answer for my actual question?

And that covers why I generally avoid non-team forums.

Yeah, because in them you might actually be given good advice, right?

Have you considered how terrible that build is? It's not salvageable. The best thing you could do is wait till the end of the season, retire, and start anew with all the new knowledge you (hopefully) have obtained since.

You don't tell us how you're running him (evasive/power). You don't tell us how he is used in your team or what your DC wants him to do.

If you just want to know what to do with VAs, we're gonna need more info than your horrible build.

The only actual advice I've gotten is retirement and lengthy "He sucks." I know that and established it beforehand, but he's my first player with VA. I'm on a Casual Team. The DC doesn't really have much to do. I don't plan on creating another DE anyways. From the posts I've seen, it's harder to be effective and I've found it hard to follow PBP wise.

Wrap-Up
Pass (Does well against the run though)
Semi-Aggressive
Combo (Changed it to Evasive on the last game out of curiosity)
Aggressive

train vision to 50, dont put anymore points in tackling, and start capping agility and speed to like 77 atleast, strength is fine and va's i would probably go with bull rush for now since you have decent strength

I agree man you tried to get early performance and blew the build. Cash in this off season. If youre new it might seem that painful from here on out but once you get how to max out the build it will hurt. Read up and start over.

DEs are easy to be effective.... DTs are hard almost impossible. hes your first player, you know hes not that good... just retire. my first players...... retired they sucked. it happens to everyone, just let it go...

Apparently I just need to play on Evasive instead of Combo. Go figure.

Dude sticking your fingers in your ears and going NAH NAH NAH NAH isnt going to help your build. Its not evasive or Bull rush. You are in a low lvl league sometimes youll perform. And if anything you should be using power. Maybe you got more AGI than the OTs you go up against now, not going to stay that way if you keep on the path you are on.

LOL. My DE is 25, playing against high 20's and low 30's. Until Week 7, he hadn't recorded a tackle since the preseason. Bad build or not, his in-game performance has improved and that's all I wanted this season since I'm not keeping him around for long.
