Does a high level CB (level 60) need 63 strength and 63 (or 68) tackling?
This is under the assumption that the high level CB already has probably like 110 speed, 85 agility, 73 vision, 68 jumping, 50 confidence and 50 stamina.

No. 48-60 strength and 35-45 tackling. You should also adjust that EQ some to get agility up to 95.

I see but what if the CB also helps in stopping the run?

That's enough to help with the run.

Would never spend an SP in tackling as a corner, even a CB2.

agreed. my lvl 63 (retired) had 16 missed tackles in USPL (almost all of them because of power backs on pitches and sweeps) with only 50/50. that number would probably have been cut substantially with just a little more strength (about 60, as LH pointed out)

Remember tackling at 60 to be able to invest in David vs Goliath

Not even close to worth it for the most part.

my 67 corner has 29 strength and 36 tackling and missed only 1 tackle in the pros last season and 36 miss tackles total in a 10 season career. That's 3.6 a year, which isn't too bad for a player who primary job is defending passes. He doesn't make a lot of tackles because his WR doesn't make many catches and a good defensive AI will put support on the outside to stop the run.

Strength helps with PDs, it's not about tackling.
