Here is the traditional first look at the average levels around Alpha, with the standard disclaimer that level does not mean everything, but as per usual it might give an indication who might have to rely on better builds, tactics or all of the above to come out a winner. Of cours in season 13 the Farmers were in second last position before the season ...
Second disclaimer, due to many veterans going into the decline at some point the averages somewhat reflect a teams philosophy, several seem to go with their veterans, probably for one more last hurrah, while others went young completely, and a few are running with a mixture of veterans and up and coming players.
The difference in average level from #1 to #16 from last season has gone up slightly, from around 7.5 levels to around 9.5. This will likely go further down though once people start to boost, as the teams with the higher averages likely have more players on the roster that can't boost anymore this season.
All players of level 39+ were considered for this snapshot, currently no team has players lower than that on the roster:
66.86 Italian Stallions; 49 players; median 67
66.64 Seville Golden Eagles; 44 players; median 67
66.54 Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks; 39 players; median 68
65.85 Fareham Demons; 46 players; median 66
65.43 E-City Mercenaries; 53 players; median 67
64.96 Burnt Orange Rising; 55 players; median 66
64.80 Graz Grizzlies; 54 players; median 66
64.48 London Underground; 46 players; median 66
64.19 Vatican City Fighting Popes; 43 players; median 63
63.81 Tulsa Doom; 53 players; median 64
63.59 Kaohsiung Casino Royale B&B ; 49 players; median 63
63.04 Parma Panthers; 53 players; median 64
63.00 Naples Purple Nurples; 53 players; median 61
62.82 Birmingham Beavers; 49 players; median 62
61.02 Windsor Nobles; 50 players; median 61
57.22 Boston Punks; 55 players; median 65
Recruiting certainly is still ongoing for several teams, so there will be some changes before the start of the season.
Two teams are at the max roster limit of 55, and each team has at least 39, better than two seasons ago but sadly not as good as last season. By the looks of it several teams have not done much recruiting up to this point, not sure whether they might not be trying or were just unlucky.
The biggest jump in average level for the returning team can be found at Boston, but that is mainly due to me not considering their low level players last season, this season I did. Otherwise Naples made a big jump of more than three levels, and Parma managed nearly 3.5. The Demons jumped by more than 2 average levels, as did the Underground and BOR. Also slightly up are Stallions, Grizzlies, Mercenaries and Blackhawks, with the Nobles the only team that has a lower average this season.
Chemistry could be interesting this season, while some teams are close to 100 already and a bunch are in the 70-80 range there are a few where it dropped to 50 or below, these teams might struggle in the early going because of it, and that could lead to a downward confidence spiral.
