I know I'm going to get his strength up to 68 atleast. He'll have 15 sps after boosting and level up again after one game. After strength though I'm not sure where to go. Tackling will likely go up to the 3rd, but should I invest more in Defensive General as well? What about SAs? I only had slow starter on as a test

Strength to 68
Tackling to 61

Add DvG SA

train strength/tackling while getting agility and speed both to 74 cap

then add more defense general

With your build at your level to be better than the rest. Speed to 100 with equipment and Agility to 80. Before placing sp's anywhere else. Train confidence up with something. After that tackling to 61.

I'd do what Rage says, maybe softcap stamina if it would help any (might not be needed though).

Agree on all but one thing. Capping strength to 68 pretty much kills the DvG effectiveness, since most HB's do that as well. If anything, he should hope that his strength declines.

I disagree with that. No powerback will have as low as 68 strength. If the HB has 68 strength or lower, you won't really need DvG anyway.

You're reinvesting the points you put in strength back into tackling, if anything your tackling ability will get even better, regardless. Strength iirc factors more into how many yards the back can grind out before being downed, not whether he's tackled at all. This allows you to get tackles on both the most slippery of elusives and the strongest of powerbacks although you may give up an extra yard to the latter. Giving up an extra yard on every couple plays > allowing them to make a big gain.

DvG is a great strategy for countering powerbacks, but leaving strength low in an attempt to maximize DvG is a big mistake, IMO. Many other areas of an LB's game will suffer. The changes made last season makes it a VA that you shouldn't want to use, but is one you're glad to have when needed.

For the OP: If you're set at keeping him at MLB, I'd look at having STR to at least 80 with equipment and TAK to at least 70. Eventually, pump up Defense General and Natural Leader.
