Speed works on them but not until they're higher leveled. Trust me, all my higher leveled DTs are at least at 50 in speed, if not higher. But yes, this definitely looks like a experimental build.
DTs major attributes in order (In my opinion)
1: Strength to at LEAST 68 if not 73
2: Agility to at LEAST 61if not 68
3: Vision to at least 61
4: Tackling to at least 61
DTs minor attribute in order (In my opinion)
1: Speed to at least 61
2: Confidence to at least 48
3: Jumping to at least 48
DT questionable attribute
1: Blocking - I did it last season and noticed an increase in hurries and sacks. Don't know for sure if this is the reason. I'd go NO HIGHER than 30.

Could be an interesting pee wee build variation, but it has no long term value. I'd retire and listen to the above people.

You could just move the equipment to strength and working on getting that as high as possible. Build isn't wasted at all. But i wouldn't go too high on speed. You'll be going against some strong interior linemen.

I can't see the build but if he has a level 10 DT with speed capped it most certainly is a huge waste. Unless you just don't care about ever making the pros.

But it could be effective in the lower levels since the OL is all Strength. If he gets around without getting caked, he'll be right there in the QB's grill. Problem is that he'll be worthless in run support and like you said, useless in the mid to upper leagues.
