I wanted to post this before our match-up, but my good friend Jed thought I needed a brief reprise from posting... I posted this in the OTR forums though, and thought some of you might possibly be interested. If not, fuck yourself anyway?
We have a lot of agents here that have zero clue of just how large of a win that was for us...
South Otto started out in USA BBB 1 west... So did OTR. All the way back in season 2... OTR made it to the West championship game in season 2 but lost to the Oklahoma Thunder, a team that would eventually merge with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and make it to USA Pro. In season 3 OTR lost in the playoffs to the Florida Bulls, a team that was OC'd by Bell 3id... Drill Bit Taylor ATE us for lunch in that game... Season 4 was a season of promise for OTR, but we lost in the first round to the South Otto Mice... The team that was the most dominant in the west that season though was the Los Angeles Reign. They were owned by Refusetolose. When they didn't make the championship game (The Little Haiti VooDoo who later became the Matu Utu Voodoo won it), RefuseToLose blew up his team... Half of the team went to the South Otto Mice. A few of the agents joined OTR, and two are still here today... Nakedpanic and Bell 3id.
Season 5 was a HUGE rivalry season. On one side you had the South Otto Mice, and on the other side you had the OTR Red Dots... The rivalry was huge because of the separated Reign players facing each other, as well as season 4's playoffs... Both teams went undefeated until they faced each other late... OTR won and laid claim to the number 1 seed in the playoffs... With both teams clearly being the class of the league, we were destined to meet again in the Western Conference championship game... It was once again a battle, but OTR came out on top...
From that point on, South Otto and OTR have scrimmaged each and every season, and maintained a friendly rivalry... I can tell you that the game played today meant more to South Otto than any other game on their schedule this season, and the same applied to us... It was definitely cool though having this game on the schedule this season, as a lot of South Otto's current roster is the same as it was back in season 5. Definitely a flashback to a better era of GLB...
