I'm currently working on a HB that, up until his team getting promoted into leagues where he was under-levelled, was having an MVP-type career. Since I've had some time to stop building him to "competerightnow", I've started to look at where I want to take him for the peak of his career.

He's currently running behind a veteran back, so he has at least another season or two before he becomes the starter again, and I'm wondering what people think about a 100 SPD/ 100 AGI back, and where I would need to get his VIS to to make it effective?

Other targets I might want to shoot for as far as STR/AGI/VIS on an elusive/scatback?

At the AAA+ levels you would want more than 100 speed for sure, imo. I'd go 110/90 or 120/80. I have never found the need to have super high agility on my running backs.

As far as vision, it depends on what setting you want to run him on.

Well, he's currently at 86.6 (+11) Speed/ 92.6 (+16) AGI and has 60 VIS, and he's all over the place on Super-Elusive. I don't have any great examples of his running cuz we're not using him much and he really hasn't broken anything big when he's had the chance, but this kind of gives you an idea of the side-to-side movement he's capable of with high agility.

I'm also working on his CAR to 60, though fumbles have never really been a problem. Sounds like I should leave AGI alone and just focus on taking his SPD to the 110-120 range. Thanks guys.

I think I'll have to totally disagree with the speed vs agility comparison. Agility is huge and can make up for a lack of speed. Speed, on the other hand, cannot make up for a lack of agility with all things being equal.

For example, when you get to the higher levels, everyone has 100 speed that will be chasing the HB. They do not, however, have 100 agility.

I have plenty of examples because I have been experimenting with HBs speed, agility, carrying, confidence, vision etc. since season 1.

I can show you HBs that were successful with extremely low speed but high agility and confidence.

Look at this 2nd season: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1529667

Don't comment on the later seasons because he's gone back to just training and being built to be a returner. But he started out as a experiment with confidence and agility and virtually no speed.

What type of settings are you planning to run him on?

The two go together. Everyone at AAA+ will have 100 speed at the very least, past then you focus on either agility, strength, carrying depending on how you plan on running your back. You have to bear in mind that if you want to excel at the higher levels, you need to have made your decision between power and elusive by about level 30, or your player will be unfocussed going into the last couple of years of his career.

I know nothing about agility backs, but I've had a massively successful power back and I would advise 105 speed, 90 strength, 80 agility, 80 carrying. Carrying is huge for all backs, it's something that noobs fall down on, it helps them break tackles, not fumble, it's important. In my next back, I would get that up to 80.

I could write a ton about the myth of speed being more important than agility, but it's easier to just paste this:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=77531

Played most of his career on NON-CHAMPIONSHIP AAA and Pro teams and still managed those numbers.
I know there are also speed players that put up numbers, but IMO, equal speed/agility, or very close to equal, works best.
