yeah i agree with what most people are saying here,
catching is not important, i would cap Confidence before i would Catching...my best CB http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1047312 has 24 catching yet has just as many INT's(with more PD's) as my other CB's are they have first capped catching. note he has high strength for CB(2nd capped)

only 2 all season and in a scrim?

i've yet to see many truly difference makers at top levels by heavy hitting SSs. I have one in the works that i'm hoping will change that but lord knows

You also only have 3 career FF in regular season and playoff games combined. All three came in season 10. Two of them in a 255-3 win. So I wouldn't consider that "successful in forcing fumbles a lot".

Never said I force fumbles a lot. Simply provided 2 links in one game of a hard hitting safety working. That player played nothing but ST for 6 or 7 seasons on a team I owned. Built for the top leagues and rocked ST until he was ready.

I hadn't finished capping tackle till before that game. (Yes, I still slow build even on my level 64 players)

Played on wrap up his whole career. I could force more fumbles if I wanted to.

That's fine. The question was whether "hard hitting safeties successful in forcing fumbles a lot?" I thought you were posting your two examples as being successful in forcing fumbles a lot. I was just pointing out that your dot isn't consistent in forcing fumbles. But you have reasons why that is the case.

If you truly have a hard hitting safety build, I'm definitely curious to see how well it will perform in the top league.

Here is my attempt. Fairly successful, 11 FF in regular season but all in big wins, though my team only had about 6 game which werent. Also managed a big FF in the playoffs, without it we probably would've lost. I feel like i have not enough SPs to work with if i want to get all the attributes where i want them and also getting 10-10 in BH and MH. We shall see. I think FF% AEQ is vital for a hard hitter.

You had 2 FFs in competitive games

Also at low levels there are still lots of HB/TE/WRs who haven't rounded out their builds to get strength, carrying and confidence (if it plays as big a role as bort sorta suggested in the weekend chat) so fumbles are also easier.

Still waiting to see a really good hard hitter with truly high attribute and coordinating SA/VA/AEQ. Haven't seen one yet

We're still on about this? Safeties can definitely force fumbles. My safety has been getting numbers since I put him on combo (two consecutive seasons of first place in FFums), and when he's ready to play on power I'm sure the frequency will increase. The funny thing is I focused on str/tkl last so they're still and will be worked on for a long time to come, and he doesn't even have SAs yet.
The problem is people want fumbles but they think a safety with 68 strength and 60 tackling or vice versa is a strong safety. A 68/60 safety is a sissy. You also have to make speed your main attribute because without momentum you'll never knock the ball loose.

I agree. Like i said, i'm waiting to see a truly "hard hitting" build at high levels. Hard to go by lvl 40s stats but will be interesting to see in a few seasons
