They are relatively easy to come by at level 42 ish with just a 4 man rush.

They are slightly easier than last season at the WL level with a 4 man rush from the DE position, slightly easier with a "traditional" DT build, much harder with a tweaker First Step/JTS/Speed DT build.

They are dramatically easier with LB/Safety blitzing.

well that concludes it...my guy just sucks major ballz.

i have a decently built DE (104 agility, 87 speed, 62 strength) which is similarily built to a DE we had on the team last year (relative to lvl) and he lead the league in sacks, so it isnt the team or build. my DE simply doesn't have the X factor that i previously did not believe in.

Looks like you are level 39. If you are playing equivalent cometition, put most or all of your equipment in speed and you will get some sacks.

You will need to change this a bit at higher levels, so make sure the team can afford equipment swaps as you level up.

Speed is king at lower levels. Hence why Ken Kaniff constantly talks about how amazing his DE is etc. Right now my lvl 43 DE in AA is rocking 75+str/90+spd/100+agi. He hasn't really gotten any sacks in anything meaningful yet... but I'm going to put that on most of the teams he's played either outlevel him massively or just run the ball all day.

Sometimes it's more what the other team does against you than your build alone. If they run the ball all day to the left and you play RDE, you're kind of fucked. Keep that in mind.

Why are you fucked if they run it right at you??? Low strength???

My experience is the same as your's. Last 3 seasons I consistently got more sacks and hurries every season from RDE. Then this season...bleh, I'm lucky to get a sack a game. And our DT's are suddenly passrushing monsters...

if you have low strength and they run it right at all you for the majority of the time... you get pancaked all day = lowered morale = lowered performance capabilities. I really think people undervalue standing up and not getting knocked the fuck down. Sometimes you can't help it. I don't think 5 is bad... but 20+ becomes detrimental for sure.

Yeah seems like JTS/FS/SPD pass rush DTS are screwed. Or they are just easier to spot and gameplan for. Im thinking of adding heavyweight in, so when i do start to get pushed back then break a block while still heading backwards maybe i can knock the guy down and continue on without just reengaging and continuing backwards.

This season definitely seems worse than last for lower levels, but not really for higher levels. Blitzing is back, but my D line sucks compared to last season, yet somehow my starting DTs are 3rd and 9th in the conference, and my starting DE is 6th. And they're seriously awful this season, after two strong seasons before this. Pretty disappointed.

My agility DT has been getting pancaked a crap load all season. Doesn't help that they put him at NT but I went ahead switched most of his EQ into strength. Have 3 in strength and 1 in agility now. We'll see if theirs a noticeable difference in my next game.
