Do 3-4 defensive ends need to be stronger naturally than traditional high AGL 4-3 ends? With linebackers bringing most of your blitzing pressure on the outside/between the D-Line, it would seem stronger, heavier ends would serve better blocking inside runs, right?

Could one use DT's instead of DE's in the depth chart, or would the penalties be too great?

Just curious.

if you want to be productive in PeeWee only... I would just go all strength/tackling for both DT/DE's.

Do not use DT's instead of DE's... the loss is huge.

And from what I understand... in this game 3-4 DE's don't need to be super strong. You can get by with speed/agi ends... I would prefer to have strong ends but that's just me.

One thing I have seen done is build your DE's like DT's, so you basically have 3 DT's at your front 3, then build your OLB's as you would DE's, and place them on the LoS right next to the DE's. This basically gives you a 5 man front. The two ILB's need to be speedy(with good tackling) as they will help cover both the outside and inside if anyone gets by you. Use the CB's and the FS/SS on the outsides to stop those outside runs. It seemed to work decently.

It's all about builds and positioning.

DEs- Strong guys with some agility in there. That will give you a good break block roll and will be able to hold up 2 linemen most of the time

NT- Strongest guy. You just need a beast here. Put him in between the C and RG and let him work

LBs- These guys need to be able to move. They will be required to make just about all of the tackles

S- Play them close to the box, but on the outsides. They will be required to take away the pitches so at low levels they need conservative positioning so that their slow reaction time (vision) is compensated for.
