Slow build QB. Where to go next with S13 boost points? I was contemplating:

- Vision to 6th cap (throwing is already there)
- Strength towards 3rd cap
- Increase SA's - whichever one I don't keep an AEQ piece on

Also, I've been wearing crappy AEQ - I haven't replaced them since level 30-something. They are in the right spots (pass quality, TS) but no + to an attribute:

Originally +5% pass quality, now +7 throwing, +19% pass quality
Originally +1 TS, now +7 throwing, +4 TS

I've rolled a +2 agility, +1 TS (at least I get SOMETHING more than TS).....but I've also JUST rolled a +1 Field General piece too (no + to an attribute). I'm thinking about going with the FG piece to save SP's there but can't decide between going with a TS or pass quality piece. If I go pass quality, I need to keep shopping to get a + to an attribute.

VA: HoC was just for the playoffs. Will get rid of that with the VA reset. Was planning on continuing Clutch.

Thoughts appreciated.

Also, even though it's not nearly as effective as it once was, PF is a MUST.

TS isn't really worth an AEQ piece IMO, and neither is FG. I'm still not convinced on General pieces and think that there's way too many valuable attributes on a QB to put SP in FG. That's just my opinion though...

This is not my study, I just pulled it from another forum.

There are many caveats to this study, not the least of which is it occurred 3 seasons ago and the effects may have been diluted from coding changes, etc.

The Matadors had the good fortune of playing then Halifax Explosion in Week 16, and then again in Week 1 of the playoffs in CPL Season 9. We knew going into Week 16 this would be the case, knew that if we were to beat Halifax in Rd1 we would face the much stronger Marblehead Longhorns with very little chance to beat them, so we made the call to do something we had been dying to do for ages. WILDCAT!

Not just Wildcat, but Wildcat to the Extreme. 100% of the game, out of the 5 WR formation mostly (might be wrong on this, details fuzzy, dont feel like clicking on the links). We knew it would be either a smashing success , or that it would fall flat on its face and would exit us 1 rd earlier than we probably would anyways. With baited breath we anxiously awaited the sim.......

..............We lost the game 15-0. And in the process, we saw was a complete thrashing of our morale, and an indeterminate effect on our energy, across most of the offense. Compared to week prior, facing the same team, with the same defenders (nullifying any defense Aura arguments), our morale was crushed, especially for the HB's and WR's, as well as our OL. The week prior we lost as well, but a closer game, 21- 26.

After thinking about it for a while, and trying to figure why the great difference, it occurred to me one GIANT factor was that the playoff game had a guaranteed 0% activation of the QB's Field General ability.

To be entirely fair, some of the morale loss has to be credited to being shutout, but not much.

On the team, we had 3 Motivational Speaker Mules with 15 each - the punter, one ST blocker, and one ST tackler, that guaranteed 98% activation on all non ST plays, 75% on punts, and 94% on kickoffs.

Here are the results player by player.

In the "Field General" game, we rushed 41 times, passed 32. In the Zero FG game, that tally was 61 rushes, 0 passes. The two games were separated by 2 days, facing same defenders, so any morale draining effects of the defense should be roughly the same between the two games.

I make no claims that is a perfectly controlled experiment, but it provides an idea of the relative effect of Field General on an offense.

Interesting stuff, Mad Dog.

I personally am convinced that the General pieces are ALL worth it. My very first player was a NT, and after the introduction of VA's I maxed Natural Leader and Pumped my D-Line General way up. After being a defense that often got run over, I swear our yards per carry against went down by a yard after I did that. True, I can't assume it was ALL to D-Line General (other builds helped too), but I really believe it was a part of it.

Thanks to all who offered their thoughts.
