Leagues even.

Has anyone read this? I just clicked on a link in Jay's sig, and what an idea!

Brilliant idea imo, it would revitalise the game for me.

A western Europe locked league would be awesome, probably end up with Normandy in our division

locked is ok, other than it kind of seperates you from everyone else and while im against the huge changes in teams each year in the current climate of the game, i think leagues that are locked would be a tad stale.

But the problem with the current system, is that you start to build up rivalries, and get a bit of banter going, then you have to start all over again in another league, with no guarentee that you'll ever play any of the teams you've enjoyed playing against ever again. At least in a locked league, you can all start again at the same time and keep the competition going.

Does not really apply to the Pro leagues though, right? At least there are teams that are willing to constantly reload rather than to relegate, and successfully doing so, take Graz for instance.

I think it is the best idea I ever saw. It would bring back the days when you knew dang near everyone in your league season after season. From season 3 to 6 we played mostly the same teams and the forums were rocing. Now with so much league swapping the fun has died down.

i do agree with the positive things for a locked league, i just think there are many negative things for it. what if you have an ageing team and you dont wanna recruit (like many right now). they are gonna get smashed when they gut and are still in that locked league, and if teams go CPU etc. If teams leave the leagues for these reasons then isnt that just what we have right now minus promotion/relegation?

you would cut yourself off from the diverse promotion/demotion leagues as it is right now

there needs to be some way of making less teams guy imo. i havent a clue how to start trying to fix that but less of it would result in less teams moving around each year. getting promoted without winning etc.
