I started him later in the season which I should've waited I know, but I didn't.
I have 35 points saved up and I'm training Strength+Tackling. Planning on 1st cap strength through training. And add points into speed.
First time building a LB so any help would be needed. If I can't even get an average player out of this should I retire?

put all points into speed. Then train agility/vision. Then save your SP's until you can take speed to 60. Then take agility to 60 with your next saved SP's. That should get you on the right track.

I wouldn't put them in speed to much training opportunity there. Your first cap is 48.07, so I'd continue to train strength and tackling through Level 7 (saving all your sp) and cap both before you turn lv 8.

Yeah I'm thinking of keep training strength+tackling then adding points into speed. But you both helped me so thanks.

Stick to your majors first. get 2 or 3 to the 2nd or 3rd cap before you do speed. Keep all your EQ in speed in the meantime.

Cap strength.
Train tackling/agility
2nd cap strength. (optional 3rd)
Cap Tackling
train agility speed
2nd cap tackling (optional 3rd)
train speed/agility
cap agility

etc...

Eventually you'll want to take speed to the 2nd or 3rd cap to give you 100+ with all your EQ, but make the most of the auto level gains by focusing on the major skills first. He'll be a much better player in the long run for it.

I would just play him to have fun this season and then retire and start over at the end of next.
