The shortest distance between point A and point B is a straight line. Playing MLB, a straight line takes you straight through the O-Line. If you don't have the strength to fight off blocks, you're screwed. It's not like an OLB coming off the outside, having to beat his man and curl back around. If you bust through that line, you're right in the QBs grill. Speed isn't a HUGE priority for MLBs, but it is necessary, I'll admit that. However, I feel strength is the primary stat here.
You're fighting off Cs and Gs and FBs during run plays, and taking on Cs and Gs during blitzing pass plays. You're going against high strength players that will pancake your ass...
