► Providence has already done enough this season to lay claim to one of the eight playoff spots. They haven't won enough games to take one of the top four positions and get a first round home game...so they have little to play for. Halifax on the other hand looked like a lock to make the playoffs three weeks ago with a 6-5 record after a four game winning streak. Now they've dropped three straight and may be leaning on a tiebreaker to determine if they'll make the playoffs. The Hashishim are favored, but this isn't a cakewalk...they're going to have to earn a win. ◄

If, as expected, the Polar Bears prevail and Tadoussac pulls out a win next week against the Mules...things would likely fall into place so that #3-seeded Northern would host the sixth-seeded Whalers in Round 1. Will both teams lay it all on the line or will one (or both) take a conservative route so as not to give anything away should they meet again in just a few days? ◄

Manitoba Aftershocks > Game of the Week Curse. I knew they'd cover and then some, but the only conceivable way for the Salty Dogs to finish higher than fourth was for them to lose against the Gorillas. Instead they laid claim to the second seed in the playoffs and get to avoid any possible matchup with the Rams before the Conference Championship Game. By the way, the projector went 8-for-8 in the West this week.
