New to the game. Can anyone tell me if this is a good build so far, and if so, what to focus on in the future? Thanks!

Edit: Actually meant to post this in the rate my LB thread. Woops. But yeah.

retire him and read up on builds. You'll be sorely unhappy with that once you figure out how to make efficient use of your SP's.

Start here
http://www.glbwiki.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

Read about leveling, slowbuilding, cap-building, what the attributes do, and how to make efficent builds.

You can always just keep this player and let him play for the remainder of the season JFF, but retire him and roll a new guy around day 30, and read up and get an idea of what you want to accomplish and achieve.

Focus your Equipment on one ability, maybe two. Dont put in SP's in Special abilities until at least LVL 25 or 30. Agility, vision, speed, tackling and strength are things you need to focus on. Just a quick answer. What type of LB are you building? MLB OLB? Coverage guy, run stopper?

Thanks for the guide. I'll look into that!

I was planning to go as a blitzing LB, but after reading on here a bit, I see that they're not really that good anymore. So now I'm more planning on being a Run stopper. Outside LB I think.

If you're going for a OLB, I'd go for a coverage LB and fill his run defense out after coverage deficiencies have been addressed.

quick guide:

speed to 68
agility to 68
vision to 60

Then for OLB

vision to 68
tackling to 48
strength to 48
tackling to 60
strength to 60

For MLB/ILB

tackling to 48
strength to 48
tackling to 60
strength to 60
vision to 68

I believe in fast LB's even if they are playing MLB and don't invest in any SA until you have got both spd/agi ti 68, vision to 60, and str/tackling to 48

68 speed isn't really a fast LB.

i too agree 68 is the bare minimum for natural LB speed. how high would you take it with eq though? 110? 120?

Well you could bring your speed to 73 but, I think 68 is enough because with equip and natural gains you will get much more speed.
I believe that 100 speed is already good enough for a LB (maybe 110 at higher levels like 60+) but, from what I’ve seen, a LB with high agility does really well… (I’d say 80 or so max at a high level). But it really depends what type of LB you want to make.

Speed isn't a major so it doesn't get a lot of natural gains. 68 is enough for MLB but not OLB. You need 74 natural in both agility and speed imo and possibly 74 in vision as well but I'm not sure yet. My level 38 LB has 95 speed, 80 agility which is fine for now, I plan on getting to 101/82 after level 40, eventually 105/85 and then I'll see whether speed or agility helps more by switching eq if I can afford it.

I agree. 73 cap for OLB

When you say speed to 73, do you mean get it to 73 while training speed and agility before moving on to another ability?
i just made my lb and he is playing lolb right now..im working on speed. When i hit the first soft cap of 48, should i then move on to agility, vision what have you..or keep pushing speed up to 73 then come back to another atribute.
thanks

I'd train speed and agility until you can softcap speed or until speed is 28 at the highest, and speed is 90+% trained. Softcap speed and keep training speed and agility until speed is back up to >90%, either one or two points depending on how fast you can second cap it. After second cap it's a personal decision, either roll it and train it back up, or leave it at ~95% trained and switch to agility/vision. Might want to ask Rage Kinard what he'd do.
