My question about Catching though is this; Is it just a binary thing, i.e either you catch the ball or you don't. Or is it also about how well you catch it? What I mean is that if you have very high catching, would you then be better at catching the ball in stride, losing less speed while doing so and needing less time to bring it under control? Because if that's the case, then YAC should improve with higher catching, making it a valuable attribute indeed. Also, would it affect deflections or badly thrown passes? I.e passes that don't count as drops, but aren't caught either?

If it helps you maintain your speed then it will make the catching skill a lot better than now , maybe worth soft capping , just a thought .

Just saying those points could have gone to better use. Even if you just took away 10 of them and put them towards vision you would have had a better build IMO.

I have 70ish speed, 50ish agility, 50ish vision, 50ish catching, and 3 in sticky hands. 2 games ago I dropped 3 passes, and have dropped 5 on the season. I also seem to get quite a few deflections. Am I better off working on jumping or strength to fix the problem? Or something else maybe? Both numbers are in the teens currently.

I have catching at 50ish and I don't notice a difference in catching passes in stride. A lot of the time I seem to get behind the CB with my speed and then almost stop to catch the ball in which time the CB catches up and gets me with a diving tackle. I also seem to get a lot of deflections, but there has seemed to be a fairly significant decrease in them since I've put points into it.

yes is a waste, i only trained speed up to level 15 for one of my receivers and it wasnt a game breaker.

If you ask me, at the lower levels there's no real such thing as possession or speed. Everyone is somewhat awful at everything, and until you reach about level 25-30 is when you truly branch off, as you'll have the necessary physical attributes to adequately perform.
