I dont know how many times I will say it. Strength>Agility>Speed. Speed is not as important as everybody thinks for this position.
damn no wonder you have no sacks.
Chase is correct if he is talking about a LDE. A RDE needs to put more emphasis in speed though because he is 1 on 1 and can take advantage of the slower and less agile OT. It's a similar situation to what the NT and DT face. The NT needs more strength than a DT would because he gets double teamed just about every play.

If you look over most dt/de's with who get good results all say.
Str/Agil Speed Other stuff(Stam/Vision)
Usually those with poor results or mediocre results are the ones talking up vision/speed. Take the time to look at the people offering advice on your and other players builds. Most Spd/Vis>>Str/Agil de/dt's deliver poorer results then str/agil>>spd/vis de/dt's.
I'd say Str helps you not get pancaked and tackle. Agil gets u around the oline. Speed turns your hurries to sacks. Vision helps you "see" where the qb and potential blockers, but you don't need to see the entire field.
I'd assume shed block(break thru) helps you get around the oline. Strong base(wall) helps you from getting pushed back/pancaked.
I'm starting to lean towards agil being more important once you hit a baseline str that will prevent you from getting pancaked/pushed out.
I've never seen nor heard an effective dt/de with confidence or blocking whatever effect these have it appears to be minor.
To me confidence is important for players who are the frequent target of morale reducing abilities, or make big game changing mistakes fum/int.(HB/QB)
Everyone keeps talking about a LDE getting double teamed, but on pass plays the TE releases into a route therefore giving him a one on one with the ROT.
On the other side (on pass plays), the HB usually helps the LOT with pass blocking unless he is running a route.
So on pass plays, it's the RDE who gets double teamed not the LDE.
The TE doesn't always release, and when he does, if you don't have an overpowering NT who will command the double-team, then the Center takes him 1-on-1, and the double-team comes from the OT, and the RG.
LDE - Strength - agility then speed RDE - Agility - Speed then strength
Also, comparing a DE to a DT buildwise is futile, a DT is truly in the trnches and as such has much different build demands than a DE who has more options in how he approaches every other play. Where you might go big on strength for a DT does not mean that it will translate to the DE when building.
That is my D/e and ive had 0 sacks in 3 seasons, granted ive played RDE for 95% of all games even though im the D/C of his team.
Its pretty damn frustrating, i think its a good build but aside from having a grip of tackles and a good amount of hurries last season i have yet to seal the deal on getting sacks.
You're almost there. A few more points in a few key attributes and you'll be where you need to be. You're about 21 SP's away from being a monster.
