You're not focusing on what I'm saying but instead how I'm saying it.

Look at your post that I quoted; where is the substance?
The tense of high and mighty doesn't sit well with hypocrites.

The substance is in my post from page 1.

"I'm going to agree that for almost everybody, Bruiser>Slippery. Not only does it do everything you talked about but it also gets your momentum moving forward much quicker than slippery. More momentum=more broken tackles, which may actually be more valuable than the 15% difference."

Only difference between bruiser and slippery on run style is that it forces you to run either more elusive or more power.

The only difference between run style is how often your player runs a vision check and changes his direction.

When a possession WR makes a catch, he has maybe a few ticks at most before somebody will make an attempt to tackle him. The last thing you want your WR to do, IMO, is to change the direction of his vector drastically because that will lower momentum and make it much harder to break the tackle.

I think for that reason alone, Bruiser is more effective on 95% of possession receivers who are trying to break tackles.

And if you aren't trying to break tackles, then either VA is a waste

"The tense of high and mighty doesn't sit well with hypocrites."
-The tense of high and mighty DOES sit well with hypocrites. That's what makes them hypocrites.

I find that some WRs will build to specifically break the tackles and some will try to avoid them mostly and sometimes break them. Bruiser is likely a better choice for the prior and slippery for the latter.
Most WR builds will focus on being elusive or speedy (Cassius Clay's assumed 70 strength 70 carrying build is obviously an extreme exception and if you build like that by all means jump on bruiser, it's perfect for you), so slippery is simply further aid to an elusive build. Saying that "95% of possession builds" are better off or in some sense prefer bruiser seems nonsensical especially considering possession receivers typically lean toward an agility/vision heavy build (mine included). Bruiser also doesn't work past 8 yards, and though that argument has mostly been dismissed I think it's an important point. The broken tackles I've seen so far as a result of slippery (or working in conjunction with it) tend to have some element of the tackler sliding around and off of the carrier. Momentum isn't very greatly slowed in any of the cases unless (and this is certainly the same with bruiser) the tackler is approaching head-on.
While I understand your argument I simply disagree with it.

Djinnt: a couple things...

1. Its not my job to lecture you as this is the internets, but imo your overall tone has been out of line in this thread, and its counter-productive at the very least.

2. The point of Viscount's private forum is not to cause some elitist divide and the general WR population. Heck, nowadays the current members in no way resemble GLB's best WRs by any stretch. Rather, its a place where some critical thinkers in the area of WR's can share their experiences and partake in some critical discussion, in general for the good of the WR community as a whole. As such, I resent the idea of pointing out membership in such a forum as any sort of credential to 1-up others and somehow help one's viewpoint. With that said, if Viscount (the man whom any inquiring minds should pester) invited you and thinks you can add to that discussion, I'm very glad to have you there buddy.

3. You seem like a good smart fella and I'm not holding anything against you thus far, but I think being respectful to others would go a long way towards getting your view across is all.

4. Name is wiseman, not wiseivan imo.

Thank you for the kind words, here are some recent beauties from this year....Im also using him at KR/PR but its not working that great thus far. We'll see.

The things I personally love about this style of build is:
1) Doesn't get "knocked loose"... only 9 drops in last 87 games
2) Can turn the short pass into a long gain.... 253 career broken tackles
3) Blocks well on all running plays... really helps the team all around as opposed to just on long passing plays.

WiSeIVIaN r u srsly bro?
All I said was protip, go back and read; I wasn't even mad until my second reply (to him directly). If you expect me to respect somebody after they dedicate 5 posts to slandering me you're being pretty unreasonable.

Question relating back to the original post... since both bruiser and slippery trigger missed tackles, is it better to get them maxed first or YAC attack?
