I'm going to try and build a decent balanced FB that is more involved in the passing game than lead blocking for HBs. I don't need him to be really good until the 40s+

I was considering taking speed up the 3:1 or 4:1 first before concentrating on agility and strength - but my concern is he doesn't get the full benefit of automatic leveling increases for speed like he would strength. Would it make more sense to cap his strength first and then just work on his speed later on?

He gets ZERO level-up benefit for "speed"--thus making it one of the worst choices possible for taking to any cap early in the build (unless your player is a "throw away" built for one season of peewee).

If I had to build a receiving FB....I'd do him something like this...and it's mainly because of the training pairs you have access to on intense.

strength + carying -> str to 68
carrying + catching -> carrying to 60 (maybe 68)
speed + agility -> agility to 68
speed + whatever -> speed to 68
work on catching + vision or something.

Your first three attributes HAVE GOT to be str, agi, carrying....anything else and you are leaving a huge butt load of potential out there.

I'm making a receiving FB and going for the quick agility caps first before I move into either strength + carrying or carrying + catching (if I get greedy and want stats sooner rather than later). Seems agility or carrying would be the most beneficial first caps if you already have a pure blocking FB on your team.

Remember the name Pants Mcfingle. In a few seasons he's going to dominate.

That assumes you are ok with him totally sucking ass until he hits level 50. A receiving FB that drops every pass and in case it gets stuck in his helmet or something, he's going to stand there like a statue until he gets tackled.

Add to this the fact that there's not really much in the way of plays that facilitate getting the FB involved in the offense (rushing or catching).

No. He will only suck ass until about level 25-30... at which point, he'll become a medicore power back.

He won't drop all that many passes either, my FB had 1 drop last season out of 45 attempts. That's with ~40 catching and 15 scat back.

Between EQ and training, speed won't be very good, but it won't be absolutely terrible either.

No. There's enough plays for a decent offensive FB to flourish. Find a good OC...

A well built fullback has to suck for his first three seasons at least because you can' t drop speed until all your other majors are capped.

Right now my level 19 speed FB has natural speed of like 14. But he's got 72 agility!

Went Agi agi agi, str, str, car, str, car, spd, spd

Obviously still a long way to go but he's finally at least part of the offense. Does have 3 drops out of 14 opps this season. I went agility first mainly because of Scat Back's bonuses.

For a receiving/offensive FB that has AGL to 63, Carry 63, working on Str (it's in the 30's) will then work Vis/Catch and then speed. Where should the EQ points go?

I messed mine up, but he should still be a good scatback FB once I'm done.

However I think if I were to do it again

Agility to 3rd cap
Strength to 1st cap
Carrying to 1st cap
Vision to 1st cap
Catching to 1st cap
Confidence to 1st cap
Stamina to 1st cap
Speed to 8th cap

Of course that means he would suck for the vast majority of his career
