Ok I've only made RDE before because I'm a sack whore. I got my lvl 10 DE on a team and noticed that the other 3 on the team are speed based, so I asked the owner if he wanted me to switch mine to lde. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1626381 I'm pretty sure it's strenght/aglity instead of speed/agility.

My natural agility is 67, if I go ahead and get agility to say 74 or 77 whilst training strenght and then get strenght to 77 is this a good plan?

That would work pretty well. I have a strength LDE and started out capping strength. Now I have almost 90 strength with equipment and over 60 agility. I pretty much kill most running attacks.

Im doin the same thing with my 2nd season DE, i decided to do it due to lack of stretgh based guys and the inspiration was a DE on a team i DC who was a force against the run and did well enough against the pass, he was pretty much built like a DT with a little less strength and a lil more speed.

its been a while since i seen his build but it was something like (lvl58ish) 105 strength/75+ agil/70ish speed, all equip in strength.

I think its a good idea, but if you want him to be a straight strength guy leave agil alone for now and just get strength up, if you want him to be a lil more balanced go ahead with your plan above.

I say 3rd cap is fine for now. Natural lvl gains will put you over 4th cap by time you get strength up there. At lvl 39 without lvl 40EQ obviously I have 90 str and 85ish agility.

My Season 1 DE (lvl 67) has been doing this for a while. 107 Str, 75 spd, 87 agi and I didn't have the benefit of slow building or anything like that when my player was just starting out. It is a good build technique in 3-4 schemes, in 4-3 its a lil less useful.

Once you get to the upper leagues also it gets harder to push the OTs out of the way because most have stopped pumping blocking and have like 121 strength.

I think it is important to keep str and agi close. you really don't need to out-muscle the RT--you just need to stay on your feet and break the block so you can get to the runner.

When making my LDE I followed that formula and it seems to work well. I also invested in heavywieght, got a BB% AEQ, and invested a little extra into jumping for diving tackles.

He led the team in tackles and was 3rd in the conference. 1/3 of the tackles were for a loss.

my DE stumbled onto that route too ... finished up with Defensive MVP award in season 11
