Lets say you take them to the third cap. I don't know what that is. Around 68 I suppose. How do you get everything up to 80's or even into the hundreds? Is it all through equipment or is there other ways of getting them up? Also when do you stop putting skill points towards something like that? 4:1, 5:1?

equipment is where you make those skills excel. Let's not forget, you do want to get them up to your desired cap one skill at a time.

So, you will get to a point that one will be better than the others, the first to get to your cap number. If all equipment went to that skill, it will easily be over 100. However, the agility/speed DE's usually split up their equipment across those two - potentially getting both close to 90, if not over, by the time they are 48.
Strength DE's may also, but to a lesser extent.

So what type of equipment shoud you look for? Do most people go with the normal equipment and upgrade them as you can afford or do most people use shopping tokens and get supperior equipment?

most people get at least one piece of AEQ, most good players have two pieces of AEQ and 2 regular. some try for 3 but that's harder.

it's perfectly reasonable to take at least one attribute up to 74 or even 77 for certain cases (ie center). but you have a limited number of SP total and can only take so many attributes so high, especially if you need to invest in SAs.

You only get the attributes to work toward your player for the equipment that is activated though right?

I don't think I understand your question. You only get the bonuses from equipment that you are wearing, and you can only wear one piece per slot per game.

YOu take one stat up to 68 early and it will get to 77-80 naturally on its own through leveling up bonus if you got it to 68 early, thats what cap building is all about.

Your second stat will take longer to get to 68 and hence you'll want to spend SP to get it to 74-77.
