I've always put mine into speed, agility, and catching until each one has 10. Now I'm putting into Ball Hawk til that hits 10 as well. But it doesn't help much if he doesn't get many looks on game day anyway....
Catching is nice..but i wouldnt choose speed or agility. Both of those are only .3 and we have a lower speed and agi usually anyways because its a minor attribute for us on level ups unlike catching which is a major.
As far as which are the best..it depends on what kind of receiving TE you are.
Elusive or power?
Elusive i would go with slippery.
If you get alot of short passes i would go with possession receiver (i dont have that one cuz usually my passes are around 9-10 yards) Bruiser is a nice combo for possession receiver if you are going with a str build to go with your receiving abilities (power runner though instead of elusive)
Sure hands is good to get either way after you get soft hands maxed out.
Yac attack is nice for TE's
Tenacious is decent if you get the ball often =)
I wouldnt touch ball hawk as an offensive player. The ball is coming to you anyways..why do you need more speed and agility to get to it? Granted every pass isnt perfect but imo Ball hawk is FAR behind any of the above ones (situations considered of course)
I've enjoyed slippery since I got it to 10 before the start of last season, will most likely bring that to 15 before I finish getting sure hands to 10...

I like YAC and possession receiver for TE.
it is just as bad for a reciever as for someone on D...you guys are fools to not want it. but it shouldnt be your first pick. Go with things that will keep the ball in your hands once you catch it as you will be getting tackled by the SS and LBs 95% of the time and they will have jackhammer.

The length of the pass doesn't apply to the knocked loose bonus.
