It's a tough call cause your kicker was studly, but the punter did put up over 50 yards as his average which is also studly. It seems like the margins of their losses were much bigger than the margins of your wins, so I can see an argument for there being more value to your kicker since w/o him and with an average kicker (alluding to CTap's baseball stat analogy) then you might have had closer games and been exposed to more risk of losing those games. Whereas if the other team didn't have their punter and had an average punter in his place, then nothing would have changed for them at all, they still would have got shellacked every game, and the extra few yards of field position would have just delayed inevitable scores anyhow.

I'd have to vote for your kicker if it were me.

Look at the stats page and sort it by Total Punts. Then look at the Punters who are listed on the MVP races. It's the same people on both lists, with the exception of guys with really high total punts on teams that get blown out enough their games "don't count"

To me it looks like it is just going by either Total Punt Yards or Total Punts as the main factor. Sort the stats by Punt Avg. and you'll see guys up top that just haven't punted enough to be an MVP.

Also you probably have already noticed that Kicker doesn't go by most accurate kicker or anything as well, so why would you expect Punters to go by their average yards per punt?

Hard to know though the extent to which the quantity is weighted. It's somewhat futile to rip apart a formula when we are in a position of having to guess what the formula is. Bort should just release all of the MVP formulas and start a discussion thread and then have a poll on it.
