What year in the last 10 years were they supposed to be good? Notre Dame has been a joke for a long time compared to it's historical prestige.. You can thank team officials for holding to their high standards of academic principles and their lousy Athletic Directors and coaches over that time as well.

Well they were supposed to be good on Brady Quinn's Senior year.. They actually sucked ass but it all went downhill when Michigan lit them up that year.

But as for your other points. I am proud that Notre Dame isn't allowing dumbass kids with no education into their school. I would rather have standards than be like the University of Texas in their National Championship year with Vince "Dumbass" Young leading their team.

I would rather win the national championship than live year in and out on your past.

Everyone is so busy fellating Tebow that they seem to forget that he could end up with a bruised cuticle from a Salvadorian circumcision gone wrong. Do the Gators have a PROVEN commodity behind Tebow? I believe injuries are a part of CFB ... we might want to hold off on crowning the Gators as GOAT until they play a few more games.

Seems like you are digging deep to find criticism. You need to find a proven commodity at backup QB? Can you list how many top programs have a proven commodity at backup QB?

Missing the point ... some folks (read: MEDIA) are anointing Florida as the MNC already. I'm simply pointing out that they are one injury from Brantley taking the reins. Yeah, Brantley might be rillyrilly good. But he's not the starter.

Here's my point -- nothing more, nothing less... since I'm a Husker fan.

"An important subplot of 1994 involved the Cornhusker quarterbacks. Junior Tommie Frazier, a two-year starter, opened the season as if he might run away with the Heisman Trophy before being sidelined by blood clot problems in his right knee after the fourth game.

Frazier’s misfortune represented an opportunity for junior Brook Berringer, who came off the bench to lead Nebraska to the Big Eight championship and the Orange Bowl game. Berringer was 7-0 as a starter, passing for 1,295 yards (14th on Nebraska’s all-time, single-season list) and 10 touchdowns, in what amounted to only eight full games. He threw just three passes in the first three games.

When Berringer was slowed by a partially collapsed lung, a problem that occurred in back-to-back games, sophomore walk-on Matt Turman stepped up and directed the Cornhuskers. Although Berringer had been cleared to play, Turman gained a 7-6 lead against Kansas State at Manhattan that ended 17-6."

Now if Nebraska had lost against Kansas State with their 3rd string QB as the starter, you think they'd have played Miami in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship? Tebow likes to run the ball ALOT and he's not the guy to slide or avoid a hit. So I don't think its unreasonable to think he could be injured during the course of the season.

Being the best team on paper in September doesn't mean much. Outside of injuries and the Crimson Tide, I don't see anyone stopping Florida from playing in the MNC this season though.
