So...anyone tried Lead Block SA on a guard and then put him in as Blocking FB? With the right build - it might work really well on short yardage situations.

Lead block shouldn't be the thing that holds you back from trying it... it's only a bonus to blocking, which isn't all that important for a FB anyways.

Curious--what do you consider to be the MINIMUM "blocking" for a Pro league FB? Ditto for a World league FB?

For a blocking build, you could survive with 60 and a fair amount of lead block. Having it higher is nice, but it's overkill much of the time. 68 would be the target number with little or no lead block. When I say 60 or 68, I really mean 60 or 68 plus automatic level increases from around level 25-30 on... so more like somewhere in the range of mid 60's to mid 70's realistically. You could actually survive with less, but as a blocking build, it's not like you can't afford to take blocking to these levels rather effortlessly.
Those points saved are much better spent on agility/strength/speed IMHO. My ROT has ~78 blocking and he has little trouble locking down 100+ agility DEs... having 60-65 blocking is plenty to keep a 70-80 agility LB in check, as the HB runs past. My offensive/balanced FB has like 57 blocking and rarely has any issues when asked to block.

Thank you--I've long suspected as much with a FB I created back in season one.

I agree with Warlock. I watched MAK outperform a "blocking" FB routinely in terms of running and catching but really performing equally as well in blocking.
IMO, there are two stats that are overpowered in the current version of the sim. One is tackling. Tackling is actually pretty difficult and if you listen to real football people, they talk all the time about "we had trouble tackling" or "we tackled really well." It's a KEY to being a good defensive player. However in GLB, players rarely miss tackles so long as they have in 2nd capped. I think a more realistic requirement would be for tackling to be in the 3rd or 4th cap area.
The other is blocking. With the level ups you get at FB, 1st cap it and you can add more if you need to. I came to this realization a bit late for my FB. I second capped him. The up side is that I think I can be a pretty effective FB in either role. Now I'm working on getting a better runner (break tackle abilities). However, I'm considering retiring him due to the wasted SPs in blocking. I'll just have to see what happens. Of course, you never know what Bort is going to do to the sim.
Having said this, it baffles me why teams still want a "blocking" FB and a "rushing" FB. Also perplexes me why "blocking FBs are one of the most sought after positions in GLB."

MAK is worse than a blocking FB at blocking TBPH... he lacks the VAs to really elevate a running game through blocking... he can block fairly well though, enough to spell the blocking FB and/or contribute on ST.
A good blocking build FB will take a running game up a whole notch, but a good offensive FB will give opposing DC's fits. Having one of each is a good move. A balanced build is great for when you don't want to carry 3 or 4 FBs on the roster (dpending on if you buy into the whole receiving FB thing or not)... since he can rest the blocking FB and contribute to the offensive production.

Also, MAK's blocking tree is 2-4-2-3-4 and he has 57 blocking, so wasted SP in blocking can still lead to a decent FB.
