From what I have read so far, Speed is a rating of your top speed, where Agility is a measure of your acceleration, ie how quickly you get to that top speed. I have also read that Agility also helps with your ability to change direction and make cuts quicker.

If this is all true, wouldn't a high Agility with a medium Speed work better for a HB than the high Speed and medium Agility most HB's take?

A lvl 55 HB with 90 speed and 85 agility is very unproductive so far this season. I haven't found a single thing that he can do to beat defenses in AA.
Lvl 55 HB 103 spd, 65 agl is having a pretty good season though considering he is the second string guy.

Your mileage may vary though.

97 agility 70 speed 8 in quick cut. Not doing as good this year as last. I think the whole not enough speed thing is catching up with him. But I'm in for the long haul so we will see. I will probably put all remaining sp's in speed until 77. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1341008

Edit: I just notcied I am actually doing better ypc wise and TD's per carry. Only this team isn't given me the rock as much. I just can't get enough rock, it's like an addiction or something.

It depends on your back's build. Are you a power back?

Many agents swear on Speed as the primary attribute for even a power back.

My power back has only 80 speed, however, compared to 70 agility. I've tried switching gear to speed instead of strength, and the strength gear has helped more than the speed gear.

He's been in Africa AAA for three of the last four seasons, with one season spent in APL. Most opponents stack the box against us even, because until recently, our passing game has been pretty abysmal.

Heres a play that I think shows off an agility build. He cuts back and forth like six times in a row. My speed back doesn't do that. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=746751&pbp_id=14502177

Doesnt work as well as you would think. A lot of people have tried it and there still are agility backs but it doesnt really work that well.
Mostly because most of the defenders will just run you down. Nearly all safety's, corners and even some LB's have 90+ speed.
The highest you should ever go is 1:1 with your speed.

My test back is currently sitting at 80 speed / 110 agility (level 36).

Carrying does a lot of the same stuff for HB's, break/avoid tackles, make moves, help SA's, help with catching etc.
Agility for HB's should be pimped imho.

Imo no matter what ridiculous speed/agi you have it won't work without carrying.

I currently able to watch a HB (not mine) who has 100 speed 100 agility and 11 in almost all elusive SAs (unless he's changed equipment since I saw his build before).... I think 1:1 is really as high as you should go, as DaMayan said. Though, I also think it should be a target, in a sense.

One thing I think some people forget when evaluating this is that besides agility and carrying... you need a lot of vision. Making cuts early enough that you're out of range for a tackle (or even a diving tackle) is important and higher vision will give you the ability to see your chances and take advantage of them earlier.

Though, with as many important attributes as there are... it really comes down, in the end, to what you think is worth that extra cap and what isn't.

My contribution:

I have been asked by the offensive coordinator to change my present allocation of SP's and upgrades from 96 Str...74 Speed...84 Agi 65 Car, to 96 Str...84 Speed...74 Agi...65 Car

I've watched the gametape and I have had monster games against those teams I was supposed to have monster games against. The interesting sidenote is that I seem to get 4-7 yards per carry against good teams when they would run me (we air it out mostly).

I like my build and would be willing to even out the Agi/Sp...although I think that high agi/car help a powerback. Any suggestions?
