I'm talking only 2nd capping kicking/punting/confidence early on, then proceeding to 3rd cap strength, speed, agility, jumping, and vision. CE goes in kicking or punting, 1 piece of equip goes in kicking or punting, another piece goes in confidence, then the 3 other pieces are devoted to bringing strength/speed/agility/jumping/vision all up to an equal amount (+/- 1)

there are some other positions where this kind of philosophy works (specific WR builds, some power back builds, maybe some OT builds) where you go super-balanced. we all know you can succeed with the standard "shitload of kicking" builds. wondering if a balanced build can work for these positions too

I doubt it would be any better than the current builds with high Kicking/Punting/Confidence. Remember how huge the natural gains are in the main attributes and it just seems so terribly wrong NOT to take them to very high caps to start with, just because you'll get such high attributes later in your career.

What I would like to see though, is someone NEVER spend a point in SAs on a K/P. You'd have plenty of SP to take Kicking to 83, Confidence to 77, and Strength/Vision/Agility to 73 and be done with that by about level 50-55, which is the prime of most GLB players careers. You could even take the lesser attributes to 60, like Speed/Jumping/Stamina and see if that works any better. I just wonder if having extremely high base attributes would help out considerably more/less than having the standard attributes+SAs for these positions, since nobody is quite sure if Automatic even works, and Calm Nerves/Big Boot could be negated with high enough numbers in the attributes they end up helping.

AFAIK, computer punters don't touch SAs and put their points evenly in all physical attributes and punting. Their lolbars are often like 57 overall but 60 punting. They end up better than you'd think but still worse than punters who focus on punting and confidence early.
