Let's do the math...
OPTION 1:
After shopping (sometimes feverishly), you find a +1 Tight Spiral item. You spend money on it and invest 48 bonus tokens to bring the item to +4 Tight Spiral.
OPTION 2:
Instead of wasting shopping tokens, you keep stockpiling bonus tokens. Using the 48 tokens, divided by 4, equals 12 SP's (and 12 games with a +5 stat bonus). Using the 12 SP's, you put +1 in PP, +1 in Tight Spiral, another +1 in PP, another +1 in Tight Spiral, +2 in PP, +2 in Tight Spiral, another +2 in Tight Spiral, and another +2 in PP.
END RESULT:
Option 1 equals +4 Tight Spiral. Option 2 equals +4 in Pocket Presence AND +4 in Tight Spiral, PLUS 12 games worth of SP bonuses PLUS more time intense training and less time wasted on shopping.
So I guess my question is, with the exception of Field Gen, what's the point of getting all worked up over a Tight Spiral piece? An exception might be if it has pass quality on it and or a good stat bonus too, but good luck finding that. Tight Spiral is only second up the skill tree, so it seems like a waste to plunge tokens into imho.
