At this point, he's not very good. In time (a few seasons), you could make him serviceable, but he'll probably never be elite.
I'd lean towards retirement so that you can focus on making the new guy a stud, but that's up to you.
With the pee-wee leagues now, starting over isn't as boring as it used to be.

If you decide to retire, be sure to take the new guy's speed, then agility to 68 before you do anything else. He'll need vision, strength, and tackling down the road, but there's plenty of time for that. It's far better long term to do it this way, but he'll also be better in the lower leagues. He'll be faster and quicker than everyone else and they won't be good enough to take advantage of his lack of strength and tackling just yet (though he will get pancaked alot for a while).

I think its a good build, get vision up fast, my MLB has similar stats. won 5 trophies so far

Not a great build but you can get a few more decent seasons out of him if you cap things efficiently and don't waste points on SAs like you have done already to some degree.

I would go ahead and retire.

I don't understand why people put points into the attributes so early. You need to get agility and vision up.

You know, people harp about "wasting" points on abilities. But I started building my player without reading any of the help files or 'builds,' and just designed him as the kind of linebacker I would want. I've spent quite a few points on abilities, and i'm only level 17, but I'm usually one of the top tacklers and the top linebacker on my team, so go figure. I say, build him how you want him to be and screw what anybody else thinks.

the reason people say dont spend them, isnt because they dont work....it is that when youre higher level, those points spent into your major attributes are much more useful. you will never get back the lost points in auto gains that you miss out on spending on SAs too early. so you can be great at level 17. wait until youre level 40 and have been left behind. then you will wish you didnt screw what others told you. people offer good advice because usually theyve made the same mistakes. but if oyu want to bury your head in the sand and keep spending on SAs, then go ahead. for the others reading this. dont spend points on SAs too early.
