There are big similarities between two moves in this game.
Both of them trigger based on an individual's ability to perform them, being lent to by attributes, SAs etc
Both of them potentially screw over the opponent of those they occur for
Both of them occur in the CB/WR dynamic
and both of them contribute to the success in a large way of the player in question
I'm referring of course to:
Fakes and deflections
The difference I notice between the two however is that while fakes have correlative AEQ values raisable on a percentage basis for the opponent of the faker, deflections do not have an obvious counter.
There is:
+% fake chance AEQ
+% avoid fake chance AEQ
and
+% deflection chance AEQ
Am I wrong to think there should be a
+% avoid deflection chance AEQ?
It seems fair.
%catching does not complete the same job, either. As we know, the deflection roll occurs before the receiver ever has a chance to catch the ball. Therefor even the best of possession style receivers (those whose focus is almost solely on completing the catch) can be deflected from on a simple luck of the draw with no way to counter this move.
And as per my example, if it makes any logical sense for a player to be able to avoid a fake, even from the best of players who are good at faking, there should be a receiver aptitude to the same extent to avoid being deflected from.
