I generally prefer a bit more strength than this, but anywhere in that range is good.

a great powerback will hit these numbers around level 50ish.

Sorry to bring back a dead thread but this is the first thread I could find with information that I've been looking for.

I've begun my first HB and he is Powerback sitting in the PeeWees at level 9. I've been playing around with the build planner and after some advice in the Build Advice Private Forum this is what I have come up with for a build plan. The plan would take me to the start of my players 9th Season, level 56ish.

Strength to 68
Carrying to 68
Speed to 48
Agility to 48
Speed to 73
Agility to 68
Confidence to 48
Vision to 48
Stamina to 48
Confidence to 60

By following that I was able to get my build to look like this for the players 9th season:

Strength - 79.69 (95.69 w 2 pieces of EQ)
Speed - 75.69 (97.69 w 2 piece of EQ and Custom)
Carrying - 73.69
Agility - 68.69
Confidence - 55.69
Vision - 48.69
Stamina - 48.55

Well I guess I just need to break down and do some game film breakdowns of Powerbacks with open builds to see how high Strength and Speed need to be to be effective. Does it take 110+ Strength or is 95 with EQ enough?

Edit: My original plan was as follows. EQ was no included in the numbers.

Strength to 73
Carrying to 68
Speed to 68
Agility to 68

I have planned to take Strength to 73 first then Carry to 68. Then I would alternate capping Speed and Agility up to the 68 cap. Getting those 4 to those levels will take til the beginning of the players 8th Season and would put him at level 51. If I want to take Confidence to 60 then that would mean that it would take to my 9th Season.

At level 56 going into my 9th Season the players build would look like this.

Strength 81.61 (95.61 w/ 1 piece of EQ and Custom)
Carrying 73.61
Speed 71.61 (95.61 w 3 pieces of EQ)
Agility 70.61
Confidence 62.61
Vision 37.61
Stamina 32.5

With a more realistic training schedule Vision and Stamina would be soft capped. I rushed through and used to low of an offseason in the Training Point thingy.

Having 90+ Speed and/or 70+ Carrying is WAY more important than getting Strength from the 70s to the 80s or 90s.

I'd put my faith in this one, He's got a pro team, and a winning one, plus he's building his own power back who is a beast, Speed kill's, if the linebackers cant catch you... your home free

It depends on the purpose. a 90 str/carry PB is a grinder. Expect 3-10 yard runs.
A 90 str/speed guy will have more long runs, but not as consistent in the short grinding situations.

Sure, you could get the occasional home run with high speed, but you're not going to break as many tackles against good competition.

If you want to be a real power back and break tackles, gaining steady yardage, go with high strength.

he is right... power back = arnt flashy but get the job done!... also look at your defence and see what there str is and always try to be stronger than any of them.. so what if you can run a 4.1.. you still have to get past the line of schrimage. with a freak str no one will be able to tackle you.just watch cb bounce righ off of you when you brake the line.

I was thinking of building my power back this way....or should I stick to capping Str/Car/Spd in that order?

1. Speed to 68-cap
2. Strength to 73-cap
2. Agility to 60-cap
4. Carrying to 68-cap
5. Vision to 48-cap
6. Confidence to 48-cap

I've found lately that having 90+ in both seems to be working better for me. With 75 strength, your player just won't break enough tackles with current defensive builds.

I switched mine mid year.

Right now he is at
Strength: 81.19
Speed: 75.19

He was at
Stength: 93.19
Speed: 62.19

I broke a lot of tackle with the second set but he was to slow. My team was running a lot off tackles so everyone caught up to him all the time. Now with the first set, he is faster and still some breaks tackles but he started to gain a lot more yards. Im gonna check all his stats and post back what his break tackle was before and after. then do the same for yardage.

EDIT: I know the difference in teams we play against is different game to game but here is what I came up with as a whole.

-With the second set of attributes I had roughly 1000 yards rushing and 83 break tackles.

-With the first set of attributes I had roughly 2000 yards and 84 break tackles.
