I just took 15 off of RZF this preseason on my LB. The red zone ends up being a lot less than 20% of the plays you play, most of the action you'll see is between the 30s.
Honestly, I'm totally lost as to where to put them instead though. An ROLB who isn't pass blitzing (because it hasn't worked for a couple seasons for me) or trying to force fumbles doesn't have many VA options to be honest... if you want to make your guy a better blitzer you may just have to go with Track Star / Quick.
