I would agree if it would have been anounced before the season that the best two teams would be promoted and what would happen the following season to the teams in relegation spots and the teams in the top spots of the regional leagues. But the way the whole World League thing was handeled is just ridiculous. So I totally agree with Disa opting to stay in WEPL rather than joining some obscure World League.

Korb has been the face of WEPL Zeta for a long time. They are a classy organization and I don't blame them for using the option to stay if it is there. Bort hasn't even confirmed that teams will return to their original place yet. He said hopefully it works that way but you can't bank on a maybe from Bort.

You could go in for WEPL and end up getting demoted to OPL. Who knows at this point. Bort will probably force Korb up but he shouldn't since he offered the option.

He offered the option if you were planning on rebuilding NOT just because you don't want to be promoted, thus him stating that you will probably still get promoted if you opted out just because you didn't want to play in the World League.

Also, for Pro league teams, I have added an option to indicate that you do not want to participate in the world league. Keep in mind that for the tip top teams who are obviously much better than the rest of their league, we may still promote you. However, if you're lower down the totem pole and are worried about getting crushed, or are planning on going slow build, etc, this option is for you.

Korb by NO means are lower down the totem pole so this is really NOT an option.

Unfortunately as we have seen, there is no such thing as an "opt out" really. There's either "opt in" or "have your team take shit for the rest of its existence." Personally I'd rather have WWW stay in WEPL too, but I realized long before this whole fiasco that there really is no choice in the matter.

You can highlight and CAPITALIZE all you wan't but it is still speculation. They had a solid effort against Bonn but they could have easily lost earlier in the playoffs. They have always been a solid team but they aren't head and shoulder above the rest of WEPL like Bonn is.

Yeah I was gonna say something like this. If Korb stayed in WEPL I'd say they're the early favorite for the s11 title, but it's not like it's a slam dunk. If Heather doesn't run head first into the MLB on this play for no reason rather than run outside, Korb might not even have had the option to play in the world league: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=692755&pbp_id=18247608

I think their players should have the option on where to go. The World League was something that wasn't even sure to exist until a few days ago. And I know a bunch of people play the game nowadays for the rivalries in their league/region that have existed since s1. Moving to a nondescript league with no real rivalries completely removes that aspect of the game. There's still scrims to play against top teams if you'd like.
