I got a SA Superior vision. Is this good for my LB? I have 16 Bonus tokens i can use. Would it be worth it to get superior vision?

I've added some code to allow blitzing DEs and LB's to make vision checks during HB screen plays, which when passed makes them go into man coverage on the HB. We had talked about this idea earlier, and possibly adding a pass rush aggressiveness option of some sort to go with it. Be on the lookout for that if/when you check out the new plays, make any suggestions, etc.

If this gets implemented, then Supervision will just become more important of an AEQ find for LB's since:

It is not a flat bonus to vision. It only applies in specific situations, and gives a bigger bonus than a couple points of vision ever would. It is also sometimes used as an "insurance policy" for when you fail your vision check. With Super Vision, you sometimes get second chance to succeed, with a roll against Super Vision's level.

here is super vision in ACTION. He didn't make the tackle but look at that transition from side of the field to the other.

I know SV is particularly important for OLBs, but what about an MLB? I just rolled a +1 Strength/+1 SV AEQ for mine.

I like SV a lot, but tbh that kind of play happens often without it.

yawn... there's really no way to tell how well any of this stuff works to be honest. I'm not about to look through 2 seasons of him having SV. So I'm sorry if I don't post the best plays evarZ. It was just a recent example I thought exemplified it perfectly. Perhaps it doesn't... but it's really a question of how much vision those other players had as well.

I just got a SV piece too, I was stoked, on my first roll on my 22 LOLB, built for coverage.

Would you rather have Superior Vision or a piece of First Step [which i already have] for a blitzing LB? I have a tunnel vision piece and a Shed Block also.

If you want to get a feel for what SV can do, check out my LBer's play:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=676899

He had 8 points of SV last season...You'll have to decide for yourself if the SV helped him or not...(To help your understanding of his level of play, he had a ton of speed, agility, and vision...his str & tackling were low).

Here are his 7 tackles from one of his higher tackle games:

doesn't look like he reacted any faster than any of the other LBers:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18157628
looks like he takes a step or 2 in the right direction but doesn't really get moving until the other LBers do:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18158128
same as before, but this time he is well positioned to stop the play - 1 point for the DC:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18159322
same again:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18160282
makes a good stop for a loss...might be SV, but doesn't look like it to me:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18161875
gives up a 6.5 yd pass..no sign of SV:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18162922
missed tackle with no sign of SV:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=684145&pbp_id=18163032
again no reaction till after the handoff...

Found a play from another game that did look a little like SV to me, but then the ROLBer reacted the same way, so it probably wasn't SV:

here is a similar one from the same game:

My guy has 6 SV, and he usually gets some kind of step on the other LBs on his team (who have similar vision but no super vision). A lot of the time it is marginal, but sometimes it's huge.

@ merk

Watch the path your LB takes to the ball. It is much more direct than his teammates a lot of the time. He is passing most of his vision checks to take the best line to the ball, the other LBs aren't, so their angles aren't quite as good, and they end up missing a tackle or being caught by a blocker as a result. Your guy's SV is definitely working.

ya I only have 4 in superior vision and i'm loving it. I was going to take some time to find some definite super vision plays but eh i'm too lazy.
