Something to consider here, doesn't power tackling increase your chance to be fooled by jukes and headfakes? Those misses aren't tracked.

One team that I am on played a real aggressive D pretty successfully until we amped our tackling settings. Then suddenly we were missing guys when we touched them, or falling on our faces before we could even get a hand on them.

What sort of attributes / VA are needed to successfully play on power tackling and create fumbles?

My 51 LB was built to create fumbles, but didn't work out so well this season. Was wondering what is needed to not miss so many tackles (15% miss tackle regular season) and actually create fumbles. Played roughly 75% of games on power, rest on balanced.

Some of his stats:

90+ speed
70+ agility
60+ vision
85+ tackling
65+ strength
10 Monster hit
FF chance 12%
15 power tackler
35 jumping
40 stamina

1. Strength needs to be at least 68 capped by now
2. Stamina should be at least soft capped by now. (Stamina has a effect on the quality of your plays not just the quantity.)
3. Tackling is fine at 68+. Anymore then that is wasting points IMHO
4. Try for a 2nd EQ piece with a skill + % FFUM chance. You want to get that % over 30.

< VA's >
15- Power Tackler -
Knock the ball loose! Each level of Power Tackler gives a +3% bonus to forcing fumbles when not using the wrap up tackle setting.

15- Helmet Crash -
Ouch! When this player tackles the ball carrier, each level of Helmet Crash gives a +3% chance to reduce his opponent's morale and energy by an additional -3, and a +3% chance of doubling the morale/energy effect of Big and Monster Hit tackles.
