Stats are meaningless unless you watch all his snaps, imo

My lvl 60 CB has nowhere near that str and had 8 MT's on the season in USAPL. I had thought about bumping up his str for next season. But, now I'm thinking... wtf's the point?
Are there rumors of changes being made to tackling for season 11?
I never spent 1 SP in strength and tackling and had 3 missed tackles in CPL. In the 15 scrimmages we played only 2. He's also able to either break the block or avoid it all together so he's effective in the run game as well. My suggestion to everybody that's makes a CB is to never spend any SP's on strength and tackling. It's too risky because there is no guarantee you will get the results you expect. If you do take my advice and have a poor game or even season when it comes to missed tackles, chalk it up as a fluke, and continue down the never ending path of trying to keep up with the best receivers.

I am doing this with my corner. I am triple capping vision, then going back to speed and agility to 74 cap. then I will work on s.a's possibly or jumping.yeah i think that's the best overall. after 3cap vis and 4cap spd/agi, i'm going to 2cap or 3cap jmp, 1or2cap str, 1or2cap tak, and 1or2cap con in some order and then i'll go into the tree.
Whatever you do, don't waste your time with str and tackling. Just train them. Use the sp's for S.A's or more speed agility and vision. jumping or confidence or stamina or anything but str and tackling.

And if you do decide on SP-ing strength or tackling, choose tackling.
Increasing your tackling radius might potentially increase your PD and Int radius. If nothing else, you can tackle those speedsters that threaten to burn you easier.

For cbs (agility + vision) > (strength + tackling) in regards to tackling.

i would actually do strength over tackling. tackling may give you a bigger radius, but so does jumping, sop chances are you'll already have that covered pretty good. as for tackling increasing PD and INT radius ive never read that before. maybe it was earlier in this thread? meh whatever, im too lazy to go back and read
. but yeaah, i think strength is more useful. force a fumble very now and then, increase the chance of knocking loose, maybe increase quality of deflection (?) and it still helps with the tackling roll.
but Longhorns is right. before you start worrying about strength and tackling. make sure your agility and vision are where you want them them to be. they'll help way more than either str or tkl.

I have had a relatively strong CB for some time with sort of decreasing usefulness as time went on.
- Adding the "knocked loose" text made people aware that they were actually dropping passes, and they improved their STR/CAR
- WR STR improved, in some cases for no other reason than running out of other things to train or spend SP.
- STR (at least as much as you can get without gimping your build) doesn't really help against a blocking WR with Outside Blocker. Basically you won't get pancaked by them, but they'll probably be able to hold their block on you for the duration of the play. You'd usually be better off getting insta-pancaked and then get up to try to make a play when the WR leaves to block another player.
As far as missed tackles, it looked like it helped a little as I played on Balanced for most of his career without significant penalty, but it didn't really help force many fumbles. He had an uptick in missed tackles this year, but it looks like most of those were missed diving tackles on ST.
