A committee of the current WL owners would be solid.

I still think, if a team declines their WL invitation/guts before going, the next team in line (highest tiebreaker ranked team) should get the invite. Only fair. WL doesn't seem to be designed to have the BEST 32 teams, at least not right away, it's to give all regions an equal shot at showing how good they are against the best of the best from across GLB.

Yeah, because the PWT and Hazy's tournaments doesn't do this already

Letting teams decline their promotion sucks. Why should, say, EFGH be able to stay in EEPL so they can try to run up another 50+ game winning streak? What if USAPL decided to boycott the world league and didn't go?
Teams have bitched about being promoted to a league they couldn't compete in at every level of the game. it's happening in the minor cloud right now, even though people don't actually know what teams will be in their new league. APL has the Barbary Coast Pirates, who fast tracked right up the chain every season and have complained repeatedly that they didn't stand a chance this season in the pros (and they didn't; avoided demotion thanks to gutjobs). World league will be no different, and I don't see any need to make it that way.

Finances *really* need to be addressed, but I bet Bort doesn't change a thing in that area. Which is a shame because this offseason could be a good time to fix Fan Support in general. We'll see what happens to the demoted teams back in their pro regions; would be interesting to watch some teams bounce back and forth every season, but I'm not sure a demoted team from WPL will be as strong as they were the season they went UP to the WPL.

Finances haven't make any sense since season 1

MMO Finances are a hell of a lot more complicated than most people (and quite obviously Bort) give credit for. Bort just threw some numbers on a wall based on some vague ideas that he thought might make sense, and we get the system we have today.

I actually think finances are kind of okay for the first few seasons of a team's existence, but once you've maxed out the stadium things get dumb in a hurry as far as I can tell. Fan support deserves a complete overhaul, and adding in league-based minimums to the fan support would be nice.
Random brainstorm - add some official tournaments, and have those tournament results positively impact your fan support. Would be a nice way to induce teams to sign up and participate, and could be a nice hack for letting teams fix their own fan support, even if they're in a very tough conference.

I agree. Its fairly retarded that next season the Hedgehogs will be making less in tickets than many minor uncapped teams...
