Watch my RDE on this play. How is this not a sack? At the very least, shouldn't it be a hurry? What am I not understanding here?

isnt it a hurry, only if the QB feels the heat? maybe he just didnt see you at all. and it looks as if the pass was throw as you hit him.

just crap luck i think.

ah the random falling down, bane of every defensive player. Couple shots in the dark here...

-QB has high confidence so he didn't feel the heat?
-Pump fake fooled him?

To be honest, I can see this not being a hurry. Assuming, that is, that the sim makes a vision check to see if the QB sees the DE coming. I've had lots of plays where I'm literally on top of the QB and don't get a hurry so I'm thinking that must be case.

As for the falling down, I just watched this replay again and I still don't get it. I fall literally right on top of the QB (pause the sim when the DE goes down, the QB still has the ball at that point). THEN he throws the ball. THEN he falls down. And no one else is close enough to cause that. If I didn't hit him, why did he fall down? And if I did hit him, why did he have time to throw the pass AFTER I hit him?

I realize that. I can see what happened. I actually pointed that out in my last post. There is a noticeable gap between the time when the defender hits the QB and when he throws the ball. There is then another noticeable gap between the time when he throws the ball and the time when the QB falls down.

My question is, how is this possible? I've seen plenty of plays in the NFL where a defender hits a ball carrier, causing him to lose his balance and fall down a second or two later. Maybe I just haven't seen it before but, in GLB, I don't think I've ever seen a defender hit a player then have the player fall down at some later point in time.

No worries. That post came out a little harsher than I intended. My apologies.

That is a very confident QB who gets hit but gets pass off before hitting the turf. Nerves of steel level 24. lol
