Hey guys. I'm new to playing LB, and I'm hoping I can pick up some general build adivice from you all.

I'm hoping to make a balanced type LB that can step into any LB role and be functional. Here is my plan so far:

1. Speed to 68 cap while intense training speed/agility
2. Agility to 60 cap while intense training agility/vision
3. Vision to ?? cap while intense training vision/?
4. Tackling/str to ?? cap while intense training ??/??

So what do you guys think? Any feedback and help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You must be making a safety.

What kind of suggestions you got for me? How can I de-safetize this build?

That's not even how you make a safety.

But as far as linebackers go, I would focus more on agility to start off. bring speed up with it as you go, but concentrate on getting the cap to work in favor of agility as you level. You will need some str and tackling eventually, and some vision....and the rest.

You need to figure out if you want to play MLB or OLB they are fairly different entities. You might would want to build them different.

+1
Agility is your most important attribute to get up early on because it's a main attribute and you get a higher level gain than speed.

Linebackers have to be the most fun to build because of all the unique builds out their but the main thing I believe is to get agility to the 68 cap ASAP and then go from there.

If you are going the agility route first I would suggest rolling a 20-21 in it. I have all 4 of my level 10 LB's open for reference.

I made the player to fill in as a back-up/special teams player, but right now they are playing him in the LOLB slot. I've heard a lot of different things, but from what you guys are saying, this is how I think I'll proceed:

1.) Agility to 68 cap while intense training speed/agility
2.) Speed to 68 cap while intense training speed/vision
3.) Vision to 60-68 while intense training vision/ confidence
4.) Tackling to 48 (at least for the time being) etc.

I was planing on dumping all equipment into speed for the time being.

What do you guys think about this suggestion I read somewhere:

Taking agility to 48 cap then taking speed to 48 then going back and taking agility to 68 and speed to 68 afterwards

I guess the benefit would be having the level boost worth more to both speed and agility off the bat, but then the boost to agility wouldn't be that great in the long run. What do you think?

I really like the plan man...

I would say that would be a great LOLB and a solid pass rushing ROLB

How is this any different than making a safety in the form of "I know how to build players and follow my advice otherwise you suck" type of build? The only difference is in the order which ultimately will result in a 4-5 point swing from natural upgrades.

I am in the process of making a MLB and have 61'ed Strength and will 61 Tackling next... speed and agility come next.

I can't answer your question, but I might suggest that outside LB's have similar goals to some safety builds. Then again, I'm new to LBs so I could be wrong.

What does it matter whether it's different from a safety or not? That's irrelevant. The question is "how do you build a balance linebacker that can play at all 3 spots effectively"?

The answer imo is to 68 cap speed and agility, soft cap vision, tackling, and strength, then then second or third any of those which you feel will be the most beneficial. Speed and agility will never not have utility. They can always (up to the point of having them third capped) provide benefit to any LB position. Strength and tackling do not *always* provide that level of utility. That is why I start most of my LBs off with agility and speed.

because you don't cap agility first on a safety? just a wild guess.

Good advice. Use this & then decide how u want to specialize depending on AEQ & SAs. IMO
