I'm uncertain whether this is a bug or operating as intended, so I figured I'll post here and figure out what to do based on that.

Our offensive AI has a lot of outputs where we call specific plays in certain situations. One thing I've noticed, however, is that the TE, HB and FB assignments are ignored in that circumstance, and in fact, it also appears that our default settings for those are ignored as well, with the play instead always being run exactly as in the playbook.

Does anyone know if this is by design or whether it's a bug? If it's by design, I'll just need to try to work around it, but if it's a bug, it would be nice to see it fixed.

If the issue is that the TE HB or FB go out to run routes instead of blocking, then this is because the play called had them down as the Primary Receiver, which overrides anything else you have set them to do.

Unfortunately that isn't the issue. In a play with WR1 as primary receiver, the HB assignment set to Pass Block, our basic settings listing HB to 100% pass block, the HB still gleefully ran the route that the play called for. On another play the TE's assignment in the output was set to pass block left side, and it was again a play with WR1 as primary receiver, and the TE ran the route.

I would post this in the bugs forum instead, but finding documentation on some of the features is a little difficult at times, and if this is intentional, I hope someone has run across something stating it is.

is he set to pass block in the advanced AI outputs or just the basic settings? The advanced AI will override the basic.

Scenario 1: Play called with WR1 as primary target. Basic settings have HB set to 100% pass block. Play called has advanced AI telling HB to use basic settings. HB runs route.
Scenario 2: Another WR1 primary play. Same basic settings. AI explicitly tells HB to pass block. HB runs route.
Scenario 3: WR1 primary target; TE basic settings 100% pass. AI setting for output is pass block left. TE runs route.

Incidentally, I know these plays were called through the AI specific play output because it used the depth chart overrides on the AI playcalls.

It's the specific play option. It doesn't work, and never has.
