My MLB just hit 25 and has 3-capped his first 2 attributes. I'm putting a lot of thought into how I want to specialize him.

Has anyone seen a lot of success from putting 10 into defensive general and diving tackle? Tough to ascertain from game tapes exactly how effective D-general is, but my feeling is that if it is at least partially useful for a specific position it should be used.

Thoughts?

D-GEN is really good. Diving tackle, depends on the build i guess.

The problem with diving tackle is that you can't guarantee your LB makes them. As far as I can tell, putting 10 into the SA doesn't make him any more likely to attempt one. If it gives a bonus to tackle quality, rather than simply make tackle %, then that makes it a little better. But you're still not likely to make much more than 1/3 of your tackle attempts as diving tackles.

Hmm... I'm starting to see why everyone says LB SAs are useless. I'd like to keep him as a balanced MLB... his SPD and AGI are high enough for coverage and pass rushing, but I'd prefer he be slightly more oriented towards run stopping. He currently has a first step AEQ... maybe I should shop for the SS's "Wrap up Tackler" or whatever its called?
