I've been on Balanced all season with no problem.

I plan on trying Power whenever we get an easy game on the schedule.

However, if anyone's been on Power with less than capped strength and tackling, I could justify trying it in a harder game.

I do wrap up. My tackling is higher than most and my strength is high enough to get jackhammer and I still miss a few tackles a season. To me I try and build to avoid those as much as possible. Playing in the secondary missed tackles can lead to touchdowns. Power tackler could cause lots of missed tackles and very few forced fumbles.

I played on Power Tackling last season(AA for reference) and I did ok didnt miss many tackles. I like Power Tackling against Power and Combo backs, if you try to hit them hard they get slowed down a bit which the Safety or OLB can then come and clean up the mess. I wouldn't ever consider PT against a juke back because they will make me look bad

Edit: capped str and tackling

I tried my lesser CB (60+ str / 50+ tkl) on power tackling, and I have no positive news yet.

- 1 missed tackle on WR spin move
- 1 missed tackle on WR
- 1 missed tackle on WR who immediately went out of bounds
- 1 missed tackle on HB

That's in 2 games. No fumbles forced. No big plays given up, as either the sideline or a teammate was always there for the finish.

I'll try it for a few more games and report back.

No point to being on power tackling. Power RB's have strength in the 100's and carrying proably 2nd-3rd capped. For a CB you would need to get close to that strength and have tackling pretty high to even see anything. Elusive RB's are different but they prolly got carrying 2nd-3rd capped so again you would need just as high strength and tackling to even do anything and even then its not worth it for a CB. The WR's would be the only position you would get it from prolly.

And since WR's are what a CB generally covers, that's what I'd be banking on...

Anyway, conclusion to this experiment: 60+ str / 50+ tkl is not enough for a CB at the Pro level to FF and you run the risk of MsTk.

Experiment resumes next year after CB has 68+ str / 50 + tkl.

Jumping's at 68 natural.
I don't think catching's worth it at all for CB's, but I have a friend running an experiment on catching right now with his CB in the low 50's.

edit: Jumping's actually at 70 natural now.

The one I'm talking about is Charlie (lvl 56), although Tracker (lvl 62) also is similar with the 60+ str / 50+ tkl part of the build. Tracker just skimped on some jumping (only 60) and went heavy into SA's.
