Does anyone intense train two major attributes while waiting to cap one of them? Or, does everyone intense/normal train a secondary attribute while waiting to cap a major?

i.e.... On a SS, intense training spd/tkl instead of training something like spd/agil?

Of course, SP's would still be used on speed when it reached the 1st or 2nd cap.

If you train str and tackling then spend sp's on speed anyway, that's counter productive.

All defensive players need speed and agility first. So work on those first.

Train speed and agility together. Cap them both then alternate capping them till 68.

When speed and agility are done being trained you can switch to str and tackling getting ready to cap str for a hard hitter.

Or vision jumping, getting ready to cap vision for a coverage guy.

For a safety it don't really matter how you build them..
Mine is built like a linebacker and is the number one defensive player in my conference..
he is a staight machine and i am glad i went away from people saying he is gonna be crap and whatnot..
now look at him too bad he is on a crap team..

anyway do what you think would work.. balanced safeties turn out awesom

Do...Not...Listen...To...This...Guy...

He's only a lvl 26 and is wasting all of his natural gains by building a "balanced" build FS. His player WILL be good early on, but eventually those that build right will surpass him by level 35 and leave him well behind in the dust thanks to the proper use of slow building and natural gains. Congrats ballastudjb, enjoy your time in the minors.

He is highly rated because FFs are over-rated in the MVP calculations. Meanwhile, he's missed 20% of his tackles (that's part of the reason his team sucks so bad), has 1 PD and no INT. Jesus, that's a BAD free safety.

I'm fine with FS's & CB's. I've dealt with those. Was curious about building SS's. Basically, I'm trying to create a slow-build plan and wasn't sure how long- if, at all- a SS could get away with not training agility or some other secondary attribute in favor of training two majors.

imo speed agil vis tackle/str...being able to tackle is no good if youa re to slow or cant turn...being fast is no good if you cant see where the play is going..

so work in that order or you will regret it later on when you have 100spd tes you have to cover or speed hbs that you have to attack at or behind the line.

most people train speed to 30ish then 3rd cap it
then train agility to 30ish also and 3rd cap that
same with vision
then they worry about first or even second capping tackling and strength [2nd capping these helps avoid missed tackles, as well as matching up better with power backs when playing the run]

this is the route im following with my SS atm [almost finished training vision]

Note: its useful to train until the bar is about 7% or less away from being full, then add your skill points to the third cap, or however you choose, then training that again. this gives the benefit of 3-4 free skill points

i'm doing this also, but my plan is to take speed up, then tackling, vision, str to like 49, THEN agility. he'll be useless until his mid-30s...but whatever.

Then most people do it wrongly.

Meh, I'm pushing Strength to the 68 Cap and maybe even the 73 Cap while training Agility / Tackling. With EQ and no training on speed, my speed will still be soft capped which should be plenty to compete during level 13 cap.
