He's an agility / Speed DE - the Closing Speed SA is for DB's but the description is:

Closing Speed gives this player an adrenaline boost when he needs it most - to catch the ball carrier. The player will gain a speed and acceleration boost when the ball carrier is far away and he needs to close the gap quickly. This skill is very important for players who will be playing a lot of zone coverage, and for the last man on defense. Additional Levels: Increases the speed and acceleration boost received.


Anyone think this would be beneficial to a DE?

the +3 vision is obviousely a positive

"Closing speed" sounds very close to Tunnel Vision in it's description and sounds like it'd work for a DE as long as the QB counts as the "ball carrier" when he has the ball. At the very least it should help with tfls on hb sweeps.

I'd take it and see what it can do.

No. QB is not considered a ball carrier, therefore it won't help you rush the passer. Good piece for a DB or LB, but not for the DL.

Would be deadly if it worked for sweeps.

last year my guy was great on ST with it. This year DE doing OK, no real stats, just exchanged it for a blitz (finally some decent AEQ!) and I have seen some improvements the last 2 games.
