Speaking as a former owner and OC as well as someone who has a level 58 QB, Go To Guy is the worst, most selfish VA in the entire game. My QB's team had a guy with that VA for a bit and it directly caused 2 INTs in the 4 games before he got benched and then released at the end of the year.
Most OCs/Owners I know *WILL* bench and/or cut your player if you use the Go To Guy VA.

I would cut anybody who used the Go To Guy VA.
Best VA depends on your build and team.
Sure Hands is good depending on your catching level.
Ball Hawk is also a good one.
If your team runs to the outside; Outside Blocker is the one I use.
Red Zone Freak is alright, but to get the max benifit talk to your OC and see if he forces starters in the Red Zone.

When the QB is set to favor receivers over you, even when you're wide open, it's nice to have a couple of those go to guy va's in ya. BTW, I agree that maxing out G2G is selfish, but putting in 2 or 3 won't kill anybody.
